Greetings friends of the Catarsis community, I hope you are doing well.

Days ago I wanted to stop by here and as always unburden myself with some situations that instead of afflicting me helped me to be stronger, more confident and above all to say what I think, not to keep quiet for shame or fear of what people will say.

It is very sad that these changes have come as a result of disappointments, of undesirable behaviors of other people who I thought were my friends, some were not so much, in short, they are changes that are for the better. Some friendships have gone, I feel that there was a leak in my life so that other better things could come. It turns out that as a result of this my circle of friendships was reduced, at first I grieved as it is normal, but then I understood that they were never my friends and it was better to let them go.

These days I have thought that the pandemic showed me the true face of some people, but also to teach me many others like learning to say "no", to think more about myself and to send everything else far away. Nobody ever cared about how I felt, the things they said to me and that after my eternal silence I just cried alone in my room. I always cared a lot about what people thought of me, that they didn't get upset with me even if they weren't right, I cared more about people being okay with me and that's why I was incapable of telling them "no" or what I thought. However, that "no" was very often heard when I was the one who needed help.

I got tired and said "this is it", what brought me to this. Maybe it was an accumulation of situations and you reach a point where you collapse and that's it, it's a decision to stop being the fool who wants everyone to like her. Well no, I got tired and I like the new me, the one that without offending says what she thinks, just like others do, only that they offend or don't care if what they say hurts you or not.

It turns out that situations happened to me where I didn't know how to say "no" and then I got paid badly. I have received it from "known" people and it falls badly, imagine how it feels from someone from whom you did not expect it and you gave them all your trust, you feel used, they see you with hypocrisy and then after crying a lot and saying "what a fool I was", I put a goodbye to this type of people and it is the best thing I have done. Do I have fewer friends, yes, but from all this something is learned.

This person that I considered my friend, began to stop talking to me, I remember that one day he passed me by and did not say anything to me, I asked him if he did not recognize me because I was wearing the mask and he did not give me any answer, he just smiled and then talked to me as if nothing had happened. Things did not improve, he began to frequent another circle of friends that I think could bring improvements to his economy and he did not care that he met them yesterday and me 14 years ago. So many things shared did not matter to him and the most important thing was that he scorned me, that's when I said, enough, that's it, that's it.

Then remembering I said to myself "how could I be so tolerant", sometimes she didn't treat me well and when this happened I was worried and felt very bad, I tried to "please her" even if I didn't know the cause of her bad mood. An anecdote that I can't forget was when one day I got to the bank line and went straight to where she was, in front of everyone she told me to go to the end of the line because she hadn't saved my place. I was waving at her and she annoyingly said out loud that she was going to the end because I didn't, and in fact, she did. I asked her why she did that and she spoke even louder to be heard and got annoyed, but when it was the other way around, I had to help her and I was happy to do it. At least she should have told me that, more discreetly, that's what bothered me, not because of the place in line as such. The straw that broke the camel's back was when she was handing out some drinks in a sharing area and left me with my hand outstretched and my glass empty while she gladly served others. It hurt, yes, but I'm over it, so nothing, we have to continue. There were many things that I turned a blind eye to, I never said "no" when she needed something and I always tried to help her, on her part it was not reciprocal, but I got tired of it. On the other hand, she often told me "no" and I always accepted it that way.

I am always willing to help, but not to be seen as a fool. I consider that these are experiences that strengthen us and that is where I quote "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". From now on things are different, I feel that I am not the same. Learning to say no, to not tolerate certain unpleasant things to be okay with everyone and to say without fear what we think is my life lesson, it is better late than never. Sometimes it's worse to keep things to yourself, I say that from experience.

Hola tu publicación me gustó.

Comienzan a sentir respeto.

Me encantó leerte.
