Fear is one of the emotions that many of us do not want to feel, it is an unpleasant feeling because it is a critical moment where we feel threatened by something. We all feel fear, it is not only a human issue, because any living being can experience it, even our beloved pets.
In the time I have been with my dog Muñeca, about 3 years approximately, I have learned to know her and she has learned to know me. It seems unbelievable, but just as we form bonds with other human beings it is the same with our pets.
What is Muñeca afraid of?
Muñe doesn't like to take a bath, she doesn't like to be tied up, when she is afraid she tries to hide but as it is impossible to do it in the yard she has no choice but to accept "that punishment". The bath is obligatory for her hygiene and for that I have to tie her up.
She already senses when I am going to bathe her, because she makes a sad face and lies down on the floor. Seeing the chain is a terror for her, sometimes I grab the chain to accommodate her and that affects her, she gets distressed because she thinks I am going to tie her up, not to mention the day of the bath.
During the bath she looks sad, she doesn't like it, but when she realizes it's all over, she gets happy and starts wagging her tail as if to say "this punishment is over".
I only tie her up to bathe her, I don't like having the dogs tied up all day, it is torture for them and also for me. Once I had to go on a trip and the neighbor told me that he would only take care of her if she was tied up, I said no, it was a 4 day trip and knowing that Muñeca doesn't like it, I thought it was cruel. In the end I left her at home and the man went alone to feed her.
Doll's biggest fear, pyrotechnics
It is rare to find dogs that are not afraid of loud noises like thunder or fireworks. I had several dogs like that, where Christmas celebrations turned into a real nightmare, sometimes I didn't know what to do to calm them down.
Muñeca is afraid of loud noises such as fireworks explosions, thunder, among others. When she hears them she starts to cry and hits the door with her paw, her signal to tell me she wants to leave the yard. I know she is scared, I open the door and she runs straight to my room and gets under the bed. There she stays, hiding, calm because she feels safe.
Against this there is not much to do, teaching them not to be afraid of those noises is difficult, I don't know how to do it. I have known that they give her some tranquilizer like “Quiet”, which numbs them a little, but Muñe doesn't need it, she feels safe in her hiding place under my bed. She spends hours there and I feel calmer.
In these days the day of the Virgin of the Valley was celebrated and of course since the night before the fireworks began. Doll settled in my room, that night she slept under the bed. During the day she was between the patio and my room, as soon as the fireworks sounded she asked for help to hide, so that night she also slept under the bed.
Under the bed, there she stays hidden, she only comes out if I enter the room and call her with an affectionate voice. Then, she comes closer and puts her little head on the bed.
We have to understand our pets, if they are afraid of something like pyrotechnics we have to support them and give them a safe place. Dogs' hearing is more sensitive than ours. I have known of dogs or cats that have died because of this. I remember I had a dog that would not calm down with anything, his name was Oso, he could not find a place to hide. My dad used to tie him outside and it was worse, I used to bring him into the house and at one point I was careless and he disappeared, I looked for him everywhere and I found him in the closet, I left him there until everything happened.

El miedo es una de las emociones que muchos no queremos sentir, es una sensación desagradable porque es un momento crítico donde nos sentimos amenazado por algo. Todos sentimos miedo, no es solo un tema de humanos, pues cualquier ser vivo lo puede experimentar, incluso nuestras queridas mascotas.
En el tiempo que llevo con mi perrita Muñeca, unos 3 años aproximadamente, he aprendido a conocerla y ella a mí. Parece mentira, pero así como formamos vínculos con otros seres humanos pasa lo mismo con nuestras mascotas.
¿A que le tiene miedo Muñeca?
A Muñe no le gusta bañarse, no le gusta que la amarren, cuando ella tiene miedo busca esconderse pero como es imposible hacerlo en el patio no le queda de otra que aceptar “ese castigo”. El baño es obligado para su higiene y para ello tengo que amarrarla.
Ya ella intuye cuando la voy a bañar, pues pone una carita de tristeza y se acuesta en el piso. Ver la cadena es un terror para ella, a veces agarro la cadena para acomodarla y eso la afecta, se acongoja toda porque cree que la voy a amarrar, ni hablar del día del baño.
Durante el baño se le ve triste, no le gusta, pero cuando se da cuenta que todo terminó, se pone contenta y empieza a mover la cola como diciendo "ya este castigo terminó".
Solo la amarro para bañarla, no me gusta tener a los perros amarrados todo el día, es una tortura para ellos y también para mí. Un vez tuve que salir de viaje y el vecino me dijo que solo la cuidaría teniéndola amarrada, le dije que no, eran 4 días de viaje y sabiendo que a Muñeca no le gusta me pareció cruel. Al final la dejé en casa y el señor iba solo a ponerle la comida.
El mayor temor de Muñeca, la pirotecnia
Es raro encontrar perros que no le tengan miedo a los ruidos fuertes como los truenos o la pirotecnia. Tuve varios perros así, donde las celebraciones navideñas se convertían en una verdadera pesadilla, a veces no sabía qué hacer para calmarlos.
Muñeca le tiene miedo a los ruidos fuertes como explosiones por fuego artificiales, truenos, entre otros. Cuando los escucha comienza a llorar y le da con la pata a la puerta, su señal para decirme que quiere salir del patio. Ya sé que tiene miedo, le abro la puerta y ella corre directo a mi cuarto y se mete bajo la cama. Allí se queda ella, escondida, tranquila porque se siente a salvo.
Contra esto no hay mucho que hacer, enseñarles que no le tengan miedo a esos ruidos es difícil, no sé cómo hacerlo. He sabido que le dan algún tranquilizante como “Quiet”, que los adormece un poco, pero a Muñe no le hace falta, ella se siente segura en su escondite bajo mi cama. Allí pasa horas y yo me siento más tranquila.
En estos días se celebró el día de la virgen del Valle y por supuesto desde la noche anterior comenzaron los fuegos artificiales. Muñeca se instaló en mi cuarto, esa noche durmió bajo la cama. Durante el día estuvo entre el patio y mi cuarto, apenas sonaban los cohetes pedía auxilio para esconderse, así que esa noche también durmió bajo la cama.
Bajo la cama, allí se queda ella escondida, solo sale si yo entro al cuarto y la llamo con voz cariñosa. Entonces, ella se acerca y pone su cabecita en la cama.
A nuestras mascotas hay que comprenderlas, si sienten miedo por algo como la pirotecnia hay que apoyarlos y brindarles un lugar seguro. El oído de los perros es más sensible que el de nosotros. He sabido de perros o gatos que han muerto por esto. Recuerdo que tuve un perro que no se calmaba con nada, se llamaba Oso, no hallaba donde esconderse. Mi papá lo amarraba afuera y era peor, yo lo metía a la casa y en un momento que me descuidé desapareció, lo busqué por todas partes y lo encontré en el closet, allí lo dejé hasta que pasó todo.

Muñeca es hermosa, los animales sobretodo los perritos se asustan mucho con la pirotecnia o algún ruido fuerte que escuchen.
Son pocos los que no le tienen miedo a la pirotecnia, pero no es el caso de mi Muñe, se pone muy nerviosa cuando escucha esos ruidos fuertes y corre a esconderse. Saludos, gracias por pasar.

Saludos amiga, así mismo es debemos comprender a nuestras mascotas, ya que no nos pueden hablar para decirnos lo incomodo que algunas situaciones lo hacen sentir. Mi Roko también le teme tanto a la pirotecnia, trato de tenerlo a muestro lado cuando están esos fuegos artificiales en el ambiente, en Diciembre nos preocupamos siempre mucho por el, porque eso le causa tanto temor.
Hola, Rocko también es sensible a la pirotecnia, la época decembrina es la peor para ellos y la mejor para muchos humanos. En esos días hay que brindarles un lugar seguro para que no se sientan vulnerables.
