I can recall three anecdotes, two of them related to dogs we had and another to a burglary at our house. Many years ago, when my parents were still alive and I was still in high school, we always had between four and five dogs at home. The problem was that they didn't get along and tended to fight to the death.

It turns out that we had been given a Doberman, and we raised him from a puppy, but the oldest dog in the pack was very dominant and always bit him. One day, this Doberman, who was already six months old, reacted and almost killed him. After that episode, we had to keep them separate. One morning, my mom accidentally opened the patio door and the two younger dogs escaped. They ran straight to the porch, where I was with the older dog. When I saw the Doberman coming, I started screaming. The dogs came out, and to prevent him from grabbing the older dog, who was smaller, I grabbed the Doberman and the other young dog and held them both back. You won't believe it, but I didn't use my hands. I tucked them under my armpits and squeezed tight while screaming for my mom to take away the older dog, who was biting the Doberman from behind. I don't know where I got the strength to hold two dogs tucked under my armpits. My mom came and took the old dog away. I knew that if the Doberman caught him, he would kill him. Once he grabbed him by the neck, he wouldn't let go.
Another time, the dogs broke loose and I was on the porch. By the time I realized what was happening, the Doberman was practically on top of me, so I had no choice but to pick up the old dog and lift him as high as I could with both arms. but the Doberman stood up on its hind legs to reach me, and it was almost my size. So, with the old dog in my arms, I kicked the Doberman and knocked it down. Then I pushed it with my feet and got it into the living room, and I kicked the door shut. In both cases, whenever I told these stories, I would say, “I don't know how I did that.”

The other unusual story was when some criminals broke into the house one early morning to steal. They came in through the backyard, there were about five men, and at that time we didn't have any dogs. It was during the crisis of 2016. I couldn't sleep that night, so when the men broke in, I quickly realized what was happening and told my dad, who came with a bat to confront the thieves. I told him not to, but he insisted. At that moment, I thought, “Whatever God wants.”
When my dad removed the bolt from the door and was about to open it, one of the men, the one wearing the black hood, pointed a gun at us. We froze, but my dad acted quickly, put the bolt back on the door, moved his hands, and told me to “get down on the floor.” I took him literally and rolled, but first I jumped and fell in the living room. Then I banged on the wall with my fists and screamed so loud that I woke up the neighbor. At the time, I didn't feel any pain, but after the shock, I did. I had some bruises and broken bones, which fortunately healed later, things that happen in our unusual universe.
