My Recent Blitz Game: Switching to e4 Opening

Greetings to all chess fans and the Midnight Letters community! I'm posting about my recent chess game again. I was impressed by Wesley So's game against Gukesh I posted before: https://ecency.com/hive-157286/@iamchessguy/wesley-so-s-double-piece. I decided to try the Giuco Piano opening that he used. In fact, I already switched to 1. e4 opening in the last round of Saturday Hivechess tournament hosted by @sam.chess.

Giuoco Piano has a reputation of being a quiet opening but it's not so. The plan involves a violent king side attack that can hit Black just like what Wesley did to Gukesh.

After the moves 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. c3 Nf6 5. d3 a6 6. Nbd2 Ba7

The Queen Knight starts his journey to Nf5 where he is positioned to attack Black's King side. From that position, he is eyeing to be sacrificed on h6 or g7 as we have seen from the reference game Wesley vs Gukesh.

Black was threatening Na5 to exchange the Knight for White's liqht squared Bishop. White avoids this by 7. Bb3 {to meet Na5 with Bc2} h6 8. Nf1 d6 9. Ng3 Be6 10. Bc2 O-O 11. Qe2 Ne7 12. Nh4 Ng6 13. Nhf5 Qc8

White's Knight lands on the f5 square where he's prepared to be sacrificed on h6. 14. Qf3 Nh7

White was threatening Nxh6 followed by Qxf6 winning a pawn and opening Black's position. 15. Bd2 f6 16. Qh5 Qe8 17. Qf3 Ng5 18. Qg4 Ne7 19. h4 Nxf5

White already has the advantage with a strong King side attack. 20. Nxf5 Bxf5 21. exf5 Nh7

White wins an important pawn and threatening mate in 1. 22. Bxh6 Qf7 23. O-O-O Bxf2 24. Rdf1 Bc5 25. Bd2 Kh8 26. Bb3 Qe7

White controls the diagonal and opening Black's King position with the h pawn advance. 27. h5 Ng5 28. h6 g6 29. fxg6 Rfe8 30. g7+ Kh7 31. Qf5# { White wins by checkmate. } 1-0

My opponent was gracious to let the game end with a checkmate. It was a pleasure to play an attacking game and end with a mate.
