The Magpies Are Ready For The New Season

The new football season is back and some of the leagues in Europe played their first match of the season last weekend. The premier league took the spotlight this weekend with some incredible fixtures, but the match that got my interest over the weekend was Newcastle United Vs Aston Villa. If you followed me last season you will know I was the biggest advocate for Newcastle United and how I predicted they would finish in the top four last season.

The interesting thing about Newcastle United is that they are the richest club in the Premier League and have not even started going all out in the transfer market. During the transfer window, I was expecting Newcastle to enter the race to sign Declan Rice, Caicedo, and James Maddison and even place a bid for Mbappe when PSG was ready to sell the Frenchman, but they stayed neutral and did not get involved in any transfer tug of war.

The only expensive signing Newcastle did this summer window was Sandro Tonali which they bought for 64 million euros from AC Milan. Newcastle total spending this summer window is 153 million euros and it seems they are done because Howie said they are trying to balance their book to avoid getting the FFP on their tails. Howie seems content with the players he has at his disposal and Newcastle has a good squad depth so they should be ok with participating in other competitions this season.

Back to their game on Saturday against Aston Villa. Newcastle where unstoppable and gave Aston Villa a lot of trouble in defence. Newcastle beat Aston Villa 5-1 with Alexander Isak scoring two goals, two of their new signings Tolani and Harvey Barnes getting a goal each and Callum Willson who came from the bench and register his name on n the scoresheet. The Magpies are ready for the season and I count them as contenders for the Premier League title this season.

Newcastle should not be taken or overlooked lightly because they are already a dangerous team who can drive a dagger into the heart without anybody noticing. Howie is doing an amazing job with the team and has all the qualities to be a top manager in the Premier League. Matchday two is approaching and Newcastle will be up against defending champions Manchester this coming Saturday away from home. It going to be interesting and I will love to see how the Magpies will hold their own again City.

So guys that will be all for now thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead.
