Hello Splinterlands Community,

This is Entry #11 of the soulbound reward cards under the Chaos Legion Edition. Last week I have shared my insight about War Pegasus and the summoner Franz Ruffmane which belongs to the life splinter. In this post, I will be sharing my insight and thought for Ravenhood Warden and the summoner Octavia Shadowmeld which can summon Xulax Nightwind.

For those who are new to my post, I usually post information which is related in the Silver/Gold League Modern Format.

🐦 Ravenhood Warden

• Ravenhood Warden is a very good additional range monster with support abilities to the death splinter.

• Looking at the stats, Ravenhood Warden is a 4 mana cost range monster card dealing a 1 to 2 range damage, It does have a 2 to 3 speed and a 2 to 4 health. The stats seems not that impressive but for a 4 mana cost, this monster should be a good use because of the abilities it can offer.

• In terms of ability, Ravenhood Warden seems to be the first monster in the death splinter that offers protect ability which is a pretty good buffs when dealing with melee and range monsters. This ability will give advantage in the battle especially when only range monsters are allowed.

• Another ability it have is the inspire ability which gives extra attack boost to those melee monsters. This card is really a great utility card.

• Maximizing the level of this monster unlocks the fury ability which I think is not that much of use for this monster. Yes, the fury ability boost the attack of Ravenhood Warden against taunt units but Ravenhood Warden is often use in some special scenario such as going the distance and little league ruleset. The taunt monsters are mostly use in high mana battles but not into these ruleset.

• Ravenhood Warden is a good use in the death splinter mostly in going the distance since a lot of monsters in the death splinter do have good range, adding extra armor gives the advantage for this card.

• My personal rating for this card is : 4/5

Combo Cards

In terms of summoner, I do think that any death and dragon summoner is compatible with Ravenhood Warden as this card main use is to perform support to his allies. Any summoner would be a good use.

But summoners such as Quix the Devious, Contessa L'ament, Mimosa Nightshade and Astral Entity affects Ravenhood Warden performance.

In terms of monsters, melee monsters greatly benefits from Ravenhood Warden inspire ability and all monsters will greatly benefit from protect as long as the attackers are not magic units and the monster that was attacked do not have void armor.

Counter Cards

In terms of counter cards, Ravenhood Warden is pretty easy to counter as those with rust ability can easily nullify Ravenhood Warden armor buffs to its allies. Those with headwinds and shatter are pretty good as well but since Ravenhood Warden attack is only 1-2 I do think that it is not that necessary. The main weakness of Ravenhood Warden is the removal of the armor it provide.

NOTE that above monsters does not include the Soul Bound Reward cards.

Also Wizard of Eastwood and Astral Entity from the modern league are the summoners that also nullify the armor provided by Ravenhood Warden.

🤖 Octavia Shadowmeld

• Octavia Shadowmeld is the soulbound reward card summoner for the death splinter.

• Octavia Shadowmeld provides minus 1 health to opponent's monsters and can summon 1 gladiator card in the rank battle and tournament. For brawl, it can provide extra 1 gladiator card in the battlefield.

• In terms of the summoning level, it is the same with the core summoners. The main difference is the mana cost it needs which is more than 2.

• Octavia Shadowmeld main purpose is to use the gladiator card in the battlefield.

• In my old post, these are the gladiator card from the Death splinter which will be summon by Octavia Shadowmeld: The Champion of the Arena - Death Team . This may help you check which Gladiator card is a good one.

☠️ Closing Remarks

Ravenhood Warden is a good utility card which can be utilize in the battle. This is pretty good in little league and going the distance ruleset because of its protect ability which gives extra protection against melee and range opponent.

Octavia Shadowmeld on the other hand is a summmoner that can use gladiator monsters. My top choice are Whistling Damon, Witch of Warrick and Trapp Falloway.
