They call themselves the king of the ring
Bloodlust from their veins are running within
These monsters are raise and train to fight
Behold, they are Gladiators with might!

Hello Splinterlands Community!

This is a new series that I would love to write in which this post will showcase the monsters from the Gladius pack which can only be use in the Brawl. I think that there are quite a few post regarding these monsters and since that the SPS rewards in brawl will come sooner, it is good to introduce the Gladius monsters abilities and stats briefly. The best thing about the Gladiator monsters is that you can only use one per match, which means these cards are really powerful and special. You can only get a gladius pack currently by using merit points.

In this post, I will be focusing on the Fire Splinter Gladiator card. As you know that Gladiator cards cannot be sold or tradeable which is why obtaining and leveling up those cards takes time.

Disclaimer: All information below are based on my opinion and playstyle. Each player has its own opinion regarding these cards and I'm just going to share my opinion.

Chimney Wallstop

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.53.02 PM.png

My current highest level Chimney Wallstop is a ★3 gold foil. Lucky to pull a gold foil, instant ★3!

Looking at the stats of Chimney Wallstop even at a low level is truly powerful. He can deals a massive 5 melee damage without any buffs. He also have a high health and some armor which is why he is a good choice to have in second position. He does have reach ability, a reach ability and a high health will prove that he is a good candidate in the second position.

The negative thing is that he is a slow monster, no wonder because maybe his hammer is heavy. But looking at the bright side, he is great in reverse speed. At ★5 he does have the repair ability which gives additional support in the frontline. I believe that Chimney Wallstop is an upgrade version of Junker. In higher level, he gives extra health to his allies.

I won't be mentioning about the bloodlust as every Gladiator card have this ability.

Usage: I usually use Chimney Wallstop if the ruleset is a reverse speed and together with Tarsa, it can deal a massive of 6 damage, just make sure that there are no forcefield. Also, if the mana is 50 or above, I will consider Chimney Wallstop in the lineup as this consumes 10 mana.

Krash Wanderford

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.53.36 PM.png

My current highest level Krash Wanderford is a ★2 normal foil. I do have some 1 BCX copy but it is not enough yet to level up Krash into a higher level.

The first thing that is too obvious in Krash Wanderford stats is that he does not have any attack but only have a high speed and high health. This is very problematic especially if you only have a ★1 to ★3 wherein you can't use a blodlust effect. Good thing is that the new ruleset which gives any of the magic reflect, return fire and thorns is applicable to a low level Krash. This means he can damage an opponent and could trigger the bloodlust while defending.

Starting from ★4 without relying to these new rules, Krash seems to have a use in which while just defending and giving some buffs, he can deal a thorn damage to melee opponent and a return fire damage to the range opponent. It's main weakness is magic as no matter how high the speed he have, magic does not miss for those monsters without phase ability.

Usage: Don't have much use in lower league but rather that in higher league which gives indirect damage such as thorns and return fire. It is a good to have this card especially in the fog of war where in all attack are going to the frontline. Krash Wanderford with amplifyy buffs could be a good use in the defense against physical attack. Just make sure to have some healer support.

Orella Abadon

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.54.35 PM.png

My current highest level Orella Abadon is a ★1 normal foil. No any luck yet to get a gold foil or some BCX to level up this card currently.

Orella Abadon is a great card especially for little league because it only cost 2 mana. I would say that Orella Abadon is somehow similar with Kobold Miner which both have sneak attack. He is a good addition to the sneak attack and can improve further his attack each time the bloodlust is triggered.

In terms of other characteristic, the stats of Orella Abadon seems pretty good for a 2 mana cost monster.

Usage: A good choice for little league and equalizer as long as the mana capacity is low.

Sarius

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.54.52 PM.png

My current highest level Sarius is a ★1 normal foil. Still long way to go to level up this card to max in my fray.

Sarius is the only range gladiator card in the fire splinter. Looking on her stats, it seem this range card is quite good for a 3 mana cost card. It can be compared or even substitute with Lava Spider. In higher league, it can cause a poison to the enemy which is pretty good.

Usage: A good choice as well in the little league ruleset as well as back to basic ruleset as this card gives a good range damage to the frontline at a low mana cost.

Gorth

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.55.53 PM.png

I still don't have a Gorth in my Gladius pack pull so I will only depend my analysis on this card based on the stat.

By looking at the stats of Gorth, this card is quite gives a heavy damage and a high durability as it deals a 5 melee damage with a 12 health on its base level. It can be compared with Chimney Wallstop in terms of these stats but Chimney is affected by Giant Killer while Gorth is not as the cost to use Gorth is only 8. In higher league, Gorth could grow stronger when enraged.

I would say that Gorth main weakness is facing an opponent with forcefield as its massive attack could only deal a 1 damage. This card is great I think in Up Close and Personal ruleset as well as reverse speed.

Usage: This monster is good in the reverse speed ruleset together with Tarsa to deal much damage. I think this card is also good with Qid Yuff or Jacek to penetrate armored opponents.

Rating: ★★★

Fina Voxom

Screen Shot 2022-11-02 at 9.56.11 PM.png

The legendary card which is yet to appear in my gladius pack.

Fina Voxom is I think the most powerful card in the fire splinter. At a cost of 5 mana, this card can deal a 3 melee damage with a 4 speed which I believe is pretty high and a high health of 7. This is only a baseline level.

Looking at the abilities, Fina Voxom could easily trigger the bloodlust because of the opportunity ability. With the high speed and high damage, she can easily target low health opponent because of the opportunity ability. In higher league, she even have a piercing and stun ability which is pretty powerful for an opportunity attack. The redemption gives additional attack upon her death.

Usage: I would say that Fina Voxom is a very powerful legendary card which can easily trigger bloodlust ability because of the opportunity. She can be use in different scenario and good to have with Jacek and Tarsa as both will increase the base level stats of Fina Voxom.

Rating: ★★★★★

Verdict

From the list of gladiator card, Chimney Wallstop and Orella Abadon were the one that I will be using most of the time base on my playstyle.

Chimney Wallstop if I want to focus on the frontline damage and an additional layer of defense while Orella Abadon is for little league or I want to deal damage from the rear.

Overall Fina Voxom is the most usable in the list as it only cost 5 mana, deals great damage and could carry the victory in your team. I am hoping to have this card in the future in order to improve my brawl win rate.
