Rising from the ground and forming into loose humanoid shapes, these Molten Ash Golems have only one desire, Find their creator.

Hello Splinterlands Community!

Welcome to another Share your Battle Weekly Challenge, birthed from the creature known as the Forgotten One non other than Molten Ash Golem.

For those who are new to my post, I usually post information which is related in the Silver League Modern Format.

The Molten Ash Golems are birthed from a creature known as the Forgotten One. Created by the High Magus of the Crypteia and serving as his personal servant, the Forgotten One is a fiery beast of might and malice.

The Forgotten One's great power sometimes spills over, leaving trails of molten ash in its wake. And within these beats the strong enchantments the Magus originally put on his Forgotten One. Within a day, these piles of burning ash become sentient.

Rising from the ground and forming into loose humanoid shapes, these Molten Ash Golems have only one desire. Find their creator. They will travel the lands searching for the Forgotten One, never tiring and never needing to stop. Once reunited with their source, they serve faithfully for as long as they continue to burn.

🪨 The Stats

The Stats.png

  • Molten Ash Golem is a rare card from the fire splinter which specialize in range damage.

  • One thing that is very noticeable in this card is its high health and close range attack which utilized this card a possible tank considering there is no any melee monsters available.

  • Looking at the lower level, Molten Ash Golem attack won't be that good enough but at least it does have a high health. Moving up towards Silver league, it can deal a 2 range attack suitable to do the tank in the frontline.

  • The weaken and demoralize ability would be much help in higher league to deal some negative status effect towards enemies.

Combo Cards

In terms of summoner, I would say that the best summoner to pair with this card is still Yodin Zaku for the additional range damage and blast and Conqueror Jacek due to the scattershot, +2 speed and piercing ability which is a good additional stats to Molten Ash Golem. On the other hand, Tarsa and Skargore is not that effective but in lower league Tarsa could be use if there would be no other choice especially for a low mana matchup.

There are quite a lot of summoners as well that may weaken Molten Ash Golem such as Ilthain, Contessa L'ament, Mimosa Nightshade and Quix the Devious.

Card
Advantage
Yodin Zaku
Yodin Zaku's boost to range damage, health and blast ability provides a great boost to Molten Ash Golem as it will enhance its attack.
Conqueror Jacek
Conqueror Jacek is the most compatible summoner in the fire splinter with Molten Ash Golem which gives additional stats and speed. Positioning Molten Ash Golem in the second position would act as a secondary tank in the team due to its high health and close range ability. With the help of Conqueror Jacek, Molten Ash Golem attack can deal scattershot attack targeting a random opponent.

In terms of monsters, I believe that there would be no exact benefits Molten Ash Golem could get directly however there are some range monsters that might affect Molten Ash Golem performance though.

Card
Advantage/Disadvantage
Ash Mirage
Ash Mirage is a great range unit but it will affect Molten Ash Golem's performance due to the headwinds ability it possess. It can decrease the attack of Molten Ash Golem.
Countess Sinash
Countess Sinash with the swift ability can further boost Molten Ash Golem's speed. It can be +3 speed if with Conqueror Jacek resulting to an enhanced speed Molten Ash Golem
Runemancer Atuat
Runemancer Atuat is one of the legendary card in riftwatcher that can affect range damage of range unit monsters including Molten Ash Golem. This card is use as well in the reverse speed which is the same with Molten Ash Golem therefore a higher chance to weaken Molten Ash Golem
Queen of Crows
Another Riftwatcher card with the headwind ability and can even attack in the frontline. Dealing with this card with Mimosa Nightshade or Contessa L'ament as the summoner will really weaken Molten Ash Golem range attack. Facing face to face in the frontline, with the headwind buffs, Molten Ash Golem could be easily defeated by Queen of Crows

Favorable Ruleset

There are quite a lot of ruleset that is very applicable with Molten Ash Golem. However, below are the ruleset that I think the most suitable.

Ruleset
Benefits
Combat-rule_back-to-basics Small.pngBack to Basic
With the back to basic ruleset, Molten Ash Golem could only attack in the backline but it is a good secondary tank due to its high health. The higher damaging range unit could be behind Molten Ash Golem for this ruleset.
Combat-rule_fog-of-war Small.pngFog of War
With the Fog of War ruleset, Molten Ash Golem could be useful in taking charge defending the frontline while its allies which have higher damaging capabilities are the one doing the real damage.
Combat-rule_keep-your-distance Small.pngKeep your Distance
One of the best ruleset that is suitable with Molten Ash Golem which will mainly be the tank of the team defending the frontline with its Close Range ability.

The Fire and Regret ruleset could mainly affect Molten Ash Golem's perfromance.

🪨 The Battle and Outcome

Battle

Rules of Combat

Modifications: Fog of War, Keep Your Distance
Mana Cap: 54
Playable Splinters: Fire

R1.png

This battle is actually a Mirror match however my card level is much higher which leads to a non draw battle. Molten Ash Golem in this line-up acts as the main tank in the group since no any melee monsters are allowed. I'll be explaining one by one why I choose each of the monsters.

  • Summoner: With only fire splinter is available and no melee monster is allowed, Tarsa and Skargore is not an option but Conqueror Jacek is the best choice due to the scattershot ability which can target backline monsters even there is a fog of war ruleset.
  • 1st Position: Scavo Chemist as the 1st one in frontal defense simply to absorb incoming attack temporarily. However with Conqueror Jacek as the opponent's summoner, the purpose of Scavo Chemsit has been defeated.
  • 2nd Position: Followed by Molten Ash Golem which acts as the main tank in the group and can attack in the frontline due to its close range ability. Also having the highest health in the group is another reason why it serves as the main tank.
  • 3rd Position: Then the lava launcher as it will also can attack in the frontline with its close range ability.
  • 4th Position: Ash Mirage in the 4th position with the headwinds ability to reduce range damage of the enemies. With the high speed, Ash Mirage could also dodge range attack.
  • 5th Position: Countess Sinash in the 5th position and could not be target due to the camouflage ability. She is the 2nd to the last instead of the last one because of Tinderlock last stand.
  • 6th Position: Tinderlock in the last position which is in order to trigger the last stand ability once he is the only one left.

Let's do the battle analysis per round:

Round 1

R1.png

Given that both side use Conqueror Jacek, it is hard to analyze who attacks who as all range attacks are randomly triggered because of the scattershot. Instead of analyzing this, we will be checking the start of each round what happened.

In the first round, all attacks were randomly triggered but no any monsters has been defeated yet. There are hit and miss attacks and will continue in the second round.

Round 2

R2.png

The second round continues for random targets and still no monsters were defeated but a lot were wounded.

Round 3

R3.png

The opponent Scavo Chemist was the first one defeated in this round, making the opponent Molten Ash Golem moving to the frontline which will deal with the Scavo Chemist in the next round. The other monsters will still continue to randomly attack a target because of the scattershot.

Round 4

R4.png

A lot of monsters has been defeated in this round. Molten Ash Golem occupied the front position upon Scavo Chemist defeat. Opponent's Tinderlock, Ash Mirage and Molten Ash Golem were defeated.

Round 5

R5.png

The enemy units has been defeated in this round securing the victory. Besides Scavo Chemist all range units survive the battle especially Molten Ash Golem who defended the frontline.

🪨 Final Thoughts

Molten Ash Golem may not be your regular monsters that usually use in the battlefield but this card may have a use especially when melee monsters are unavailable in the ruleset. The main function of Molten Ash Golem is being a tank in the frontline considering no any melee available.

This card can even be use in noxious fumes due to high health and can even be use in reverse speed.

In conclusion, Molten Ash Golem offers a good service in the Fire Splinter.

How do you think Molten Ash Golem is?
