Delicious Ramen at Ippudo / Yummyyy🍜

One thing we love about staycation at Sunway Velocity Hotel is that it is directly connected to its mall, Sunway Velocity Mall. It is so easy to access to the mall and you will never be running out of food. Since hotel check-in time is 3pm, we went for lunch first at the mall, with all our luggages still in the car boot. Husband asked me what was I craving. I gave him one word!

Ramen!!!

Sorry to my readers, I was totally famished when the ramen was put in front of me, all of us were hungry. I took all the photos when the bowls were put on the table and after that no more, because we were slurping our noodles and enjoying every drop of the 'golden' soup. So you didn't get to see how boinky and springy the ramen was.

We knew there is a nice one here called Ippudo, so without further hesitation, we went there.

OMG! I love love love all the t-shirt designs.. Do you spot your country? I spotted mine > Malaysia 🇲🇾.

I also love the art painting on the wall. One thing I love about walking in the mall is I get to enjoy different art paintings at different shop. Or different deco and style.

When we reached, the waiter attended to us and brought us to the outer side of the shop, I kind of liked it, better ventilation and I love people-shopping as in window-shopping but my version was people-shopping. I love looking at people, just thinking about how special they look, and everyone is amazing in his or her own way. And I also would think what were people thinking when they did this or that. Yes, I am observant, towards the kind side not judgemental side. 😁

Okay, let's cut the chase. Back to the place and menu. Here was where we were seated, at the centre of the isle right outside the shop. It was actually freezing cold.

Menu

I was thinking which to order among the three types of ramen with Tonkatsu broth. I love Tonkatsu, so much so if my husband wants a Japanese name, I would name him Katsu. Lol... Like DearKatsu. Or Darlkatsu. Hahaha...

  1. Shiromaru (original Tonkatsu broth with ultra thin noodle)
  2. Akamaru (Also Tonkatsu broth with spicy miso paste, ultra-thin noodle)
  3. Ippudo Kuro (also Tonkatsu broth with spicy miso paste + black pepper and with thick chewy noodles)

Ippudo Kuro Special

The adults chose this one and I must say, no regrets, super love its thick, chewy noodles. It paired well with the smoky peppery tonkatsu soup. The soup was special because it also contains spicy blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil and a generous amount of black pepper. It had a nice kick to your system yet not too peppery until unacceptable. , I finished the whole bowl of soup because it was too yummy. The ingredients in it were salted soft-boiled egg, BBQ pork belly, flavoured black fungus, alot of spring onion, seaweed and bean sprouts.

It was so delicious once I was in contact with the ramen, I totally ditched my phone and no photos of it. All slurped into mouth, slurp slurp slurp. Then, it was finished.

Shiromaru

The children chose the not spicy one, their original tonkatsu. The eldest opted for Shiromaru special and the youngest one Shiromaru Motoaji. Photos below were taken by the son. Actually both bowl were similar except one with seaweed, one without.

Then, DearKatsu ordered a snack bite called corn puffs or something like that, I weren't paying attention because I was still enjoying my ramen. But the corn thingy was delicious too. There were balls of fried flour with lots of corns in it.

It was such a satisfying lunch and I wanted to come back for dinner but DearKatsu said we tried other cuisine. Let me finish the blog with this photo.

Your photos remind me of Akamaru at Ippudo Sai Gon. I tried it once, and it was really delicious.😊

It should be the same taste because it is Ippudo. Just Ippudo at different place. Thank you for dropping by.
