Lost Cat / Freewrite's Prompt by @MarianneEWest

It was one Sunday evening after we came home from prayer meeting, my eldest son heard cat wailing somewhere nearby our apartment's lift. We tried to locate but couldn't. He did not give up, even forgot about his hunger. My eldest son is an animal lover, his heart would melt and cry upon seeing any lost or unown animal, even snail.

Finally, we found the cat in between a rack of newspaper, someone put the old rack at the hidden corner, filled with newspaper. It was a cute little grey kitten.

"A lost cat, mummy, means we musy bring it home," he said to me with eyes full of hope and love. But I had to turn him down. Firstly, we were not allowed to have cats and dogs in apartment. The rule. Secondly, our youngest son had hypoplasia lungs which might not be able to withstand animal fur.

"Then we go buy something for the cat to eat," he replied, almost tearing for the thought of not able to bring it back.

The grocery shop nearby did sell cats' food, we bought two packs of junior cat food for the lost cat.

Poor son kept thinking about the cat day in and day out, and it had been months we fed the cat daily. Until one day, we could not find him at the lobby. Lost. Then, we went and asked the office management to find out they had called those pet's shop to take the cat away.

My son cried, missing the cat badly. But one day, he saw a cat soft toy, which looked exactly like the lost cat. We bought it and it is still at the side of his bed/pillow until today. With other soft toys animals too. What an animal lover.

Can you spot the grey cat? Comfortably snuggling with all othet animals, my son sleeps beside them everyday.
