Precious Hanging Out ❤️/ Good Food Good Company

When we grow older, our circle of friends tend to shrink but the quality of friendship increases. I do not have many friends whom I can truly share honestly my feelings, but also because I seldom shared out everything even since young. A quiet soul - people would say but a great listener. Therefore, I treasure these two ladies who somehow we crossed paths and gradually become friends. We talked about life and God's words, we keep one another in prayers. We do not tear each other down yet we are also honest and speak the truth. Friendship like this is hard to find so I treasure them alot. And we do not chat everyday to be close friends. We can be close in silence too.

Enough of the above, the main point is, three of us got to go out together after talking about it for sometime. We had always had our life to handle so we didn't get to go out together. We used to go out for ministry purpose - one of them is our Pastor who took care of us when we were teenagers, and another one my comrade and co-worker when we worked at church before we became mothers, but this time, it was for hanging out, eating and chatting together. Relaxing. Supporting. Encouraging. I must say, we were so glad this day finally arrived.

At a Chinese Restaurant

We decided to go for a Chinese restaurant since if we go with our family with children, we seldom get to order those mala spicy food. Three of us love mala food, some sourish spicy stuff, so we walkes around the mall to search for the one.

(Photo below was taken after the food arrived)

Before that, we noticed the restaurant was empty and we were the only customers there throughout. Pandemic had hit food business real hard.

It was a tad difficult to order food, because, literally, all the food look so delicious in the menu, which I will show you later. And we decided to opt for their mala fish. Before that, our Pastor also gave us dragon fruits, nougats and coffee.

Our mouth-watering food

The special on the menu is Chang Qing Grilled Fish. Our Pastor whom has become our friends told us ChangQing is a place at China and is popular with ChangQing dish. Usually, it is cooked with dried chillies as well as Sichuan peppercorns. We love anything mala, and when the staff at the Chinese restaurant introduced us this, we nodded our heads 100%. Three of us love the mala plus sourish dish.

The fish was so fresh and properly grilled giving that crispy layer, and it paired so well with the mala gravy. Yes, it did look like too much chillies and kind of intimidating, but trust me, it wasn't that spicy till you will fly to the moon. It was just nice, bearable, and it didn't hurt any gut, nor did it make my lips swollen. All good. 😁

Inside this dish was hidden all the valuable greens of 'bokchoy', beansprouts, potatoes and soybean noodles. The soup was really mouth-watering and just the soup and rice was superb enough.

We also ordered their signature dumplings with super yummy dipping sauce, BBQ brinjal and stir fry lotus roots.

When we gathered for meet-up, we tend to forget to take photo, so I attempted but so blur.

After eating and chatting for three hours at the Chinese restaurant, our Pastor wanted to treat us some desserts. She said we could go for a cake, and then ice-cream and then some other stuffs. But we were all too full and just wanted some drinks to quench the thirst after losing saliva due to chatting for too long. Haha. So, we ended up at a coffee shop which also serves some juices and crepes. Very empty too, only three tables were occupied. We ordered some coffee, tea, cucumber juice and rose longan. Plus a yummy Gula Melaka crepe. And chatted for another one and half hour.

It was really a great time together. So uplifting. So good for the soul. Indeed, we had good food, and good company. Even our husbands commented that we should do more often than just once a year or twice a year. They must be noticing the change of countenance in their wives to say that. Yes, we did plan for our next-up, maybe we shall go for a massage together. Let's see!

Thank you for reading. Stay bubbly. Stay hopeful.
