Rule The Day / Freewrite's Prompt by @MarianneEWest
Butter Cake
My impromptu butter cake successfully rule the day! This was my first attempt, just to let you know, I am no baker. I have no flour fingers. And can you believe it, it was my first time using electric hand mixer too! Was nervous that it would fail but the butter cake turned out soft, moist and super yummy! Haha. Didn't have alot of photo because one just couldn't if she needed to play and pause the video for 'thousand' times to ensure the steps were correct. Even the way to fold in the flour. Lol...
These are the ingredients needed
- 250g butter
- 200g caster sugar
- 210g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I only have essense)
- 5 eggs
- 50ml milk
The baker advised to follow exactly the timing whisking the butter and then the eggs. But I beated the egg slightly longer, the mixture started to have some curd-like thingy. I was afraid the butter would fail. But it was awesome. My initial butter sugar mixture was alright though.
Into the oven, and I was nervous...
Nervous till when it is done and I had my children tested it, my hubby approved, I totally forgot to take picture of the whole cake!
Very nice!
I am looking forward to eat if for breakfast with coffee. We had not so good day. Tiring one. I did mention in my previous post but baking this butter cake is a rule-the-day item! It changed the whole mood from gloomy to cheerful.
