It's that time of the year again before Chinese New Year, that I have this yearly habit of doing decluttering, followed by thorough cleaning the whole house, room by room, corner by corner. I had been busy sorting out all clothes, checking the condition, deciding which to pass to who, which into charity, which need some sewing or alterations. So happen, this morning, Jansen started to feel uncomfortable again with his bowel traffic-jam post-surgery thingy, I was unable to totally go on full fledge with the usual daily tasks. When he was like this, I put on hold homeschool in order to ease him. Not having much time with the eldest as well, and thank God, my friend came to rescue to set up an online virtual gathering for my eldest and his friends.

Jayden was excited!

It was scheduled at 2pm, but at 1:30pm, he was all ready with all tools and material. They were doing art together using watercolour. It wasn't an art class per se, just a virtual gathering, and everyone happily chitchatting away while doing their art. They really had so much fun sharing about anything that came into mind. So enjoyable to watch them.

Jansen would occasionally lie down if he felt pain, and when he was alright, he would come to the screen to join them.

They brainstormed together what were they going to draw, they talked about the current situation, the food in the fridge, the fruits they were eating.... Literally anything under the sun! Little children need social input too. It is not easy for them as such time, lesser time running at the park, not going to school to meet with friends face-to-face, not doing any sports like basketballs or soccer. Bless the kids in this era. I love how mature they are at such young age. To comply at difficult times and still going through it with joy at their faces.

Almost 3 hours together

If not because of my laptop which battery was depleted, they would have continue non-stop. After drawing, they still sat there chitchatting. Oh, how they missed one another. They also happily showed their art to each other with compliments.

We had to say bye bye because it was evening, everyone needed to settle down to bathe, and then prepare for dinner. They are already looking forward to the next session together.

It got me thinking...

We, adults, should also set a time to meet together online, don't we? I mean, I had been doing that with my family members, video calling one another, but I had never planned with my friends, namely because all are busy mothers or they need to work from home. But, I think it will be nice to meet one another and just keep one another updated? After all, we are social being. If cocoon too long, we might become insane. I am very sure this type of 'cocoon' ain't change me into a butterfly. Haha. I shall plan one soon... :) FYI, I'd got to chat a little with the friends' mothers whom were my friends, but not too long, or else we would be interrupting the children's on-going conversation. Ahhh...next special meeting only for the mommas.😜
