When the boys received impromptu special gift from my dad 🎁❤️

“Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.” — Alex Haley

My eldest son exclaimed, "I am so blessed, I receive a lot of presents from grandparents."

His wide smile of happiness — from left ear to right ear.

Since, I am going to write something related to my dad, here is a photo of him, the one in the center, me and my younger brother.

It was one fine day, and as usual, once a week, I made a point to video call my parents to let them see my face, although they were looking forward to see grandchildren faces more than mine (lol), plus chitchatting (for this one, my mum and I could talk non-stop), my father suddenly blurted one sentence out of the blue.

"Wai Gong think both of you are really very good boys, I am very proud of you. So I want to buy something for you boys. Ask mummy daddy bring you both to Toys'R' Us, choose something you like. Wai Gong sponsor."

Wai Gong = grandfather from maternal side.

I made a point to squeeze my face into the small handphone screen so that my dad remembered my existence and asked my dad, "Aren't you proud of me too, I raise them up well. Any gift for me?" 😁😁😁😁

He knew I was trying to pull his legs, so he joked back that he had bought countless things for me, especially a lot of Barbie dolls, a lot of teddy bears soft toys, a lot of Micro Genius and Sega games, a lot of Lego girl series, a lot of casettes, anything entertainment and toys, my dad would settle the bills. My mom settled all the story books and magazines and my attires. Yupyup, he was so correct!

LEGO!

The eldest son exclaimed "Lego!" Because he wanted to get creative to build his own creation, so he asked for Lego Classic. My dad specifically said to buy the biggest one so that both boys can play together. The youngest son chose Ultraman figurines.

We went to Toy'R'Us and I found out the Lego Classic set of 1500 pieces is RM100 more expensive, so I opted to online purchase via Shopee. When I found out there was additional voucher on 5th of May, I waited.

Finally arrived...

The photo didn't do any justice to accurately display their immense joy. Out of a sudden, the pose became so formal when I asked for a photo to show my dad. Maybe they need a trampoline or some sort to help them jump to express their exuberant happiness. Lol...

It came in such a big box, inside was pile of papers, I guess to protect the box from being dented? Good job to the seller. I bought from Lego Official Shop.

I chose the biggest Lego Classic of 1500 pieces which came with 4 additional baseplates of different colours.

On top of that, I added on another bigger blue baseplate.

Unpacking

Love all the colours selection of this series.
I didn't buy those compartment type of containers for different colour different section, so the boys just grabbed a box nearby and opened up all of the plastic and mixed all up. They said they loved the process of treasure hunting a particular piece. Really? Seriously? To me, that's a waste of time. Anyway, let kids be kids.

Building

They couldn't wait to unleash their creativity, so the eldest he wanted to create a creature. Sounds great...

"Mummy, I can't find the eyes..."

I giggled, then replied, just enjoy treasure hunting yaa...

He successfully found the eyes and built its creature, some sort of monster bird. .

The youngest one just wanted to build ocipala stuff stacking on the blue baseplate.

Ocipala = our slang language of miscellaneous or variety or simply or anything in between.

The next day

They could spend hours building stuff. It was a great buy!

Another creation from the eldest son. Some sort of fortress.

More ocipala stacking by my youngest son, also some walls and security camera.

My dad transferred the money into my account and some remainder, he said I could buy something to eat. Immediately, I thought of Jongga Kimchi Ramen which I tasted recently, bought by husband for me. I WANTED MORE! I shall be on the look out for any promotion at Shopee app soon. Haha! I love my parents so so much. They are the reason I am generous and kind too, inherited from them. Self-praise just once in a blue moon.

Thank you for reading. Stay bubbly. Stay hopeful.
