Oops! Did I Just Send That?

Do you know one of those situations where you wish the earth would swallow you up? Allow me to share a recent experience that left me red-faced yet laughing at myself.

🤦

Innocently enough, it all began when I was texting one of my friends, complaining about my day and, let’s face it, being a little bit pissed off with a somewhat annoying workmate who always manages to irritate me in one way or another.

I prepared an angry message putting down all my frustrations, clicked send without thinking twice.

But this is not exactly what happened

You see, I had chosen the inappropriate contact on my phone hurriedly. Instead of sending my tirade to my trusted friend, I rather directed it to the origin of my annoyance – one of my colleagues!

My heart sank to the pit of my stomach as soon as I hit the send button. I hurriedly tried recalling it but alas, the harm was done.

All I could do was wait for that incoming mail filled with confusion, anger or even worse laughter at my expense.

True to form, my phone pinged with a response within moments. Hesitantly, I opened it, bracing myself for the fallout.

To my surprise (and relief), it was not a scorning remark but rather a simple "Did you mean to send this to me?"

I could feel that heat rising up into my cheeks as I fumbled for an explanation, desperately trying to save face. But there was no way back having just mistakenly aired all of my grievances about someone to him.

The initial shock had worn off and now I couldn’t help laughing at how senseless this was.

Caught in an immense digital "faux pas" and all I could do was laugh at myself because of what happened.

Eventually, my colleague and I could afford to let it be a joke between us, and we bonded over our shared journey of misplaced technology.

It may have been an embarrassing experience at that time but one that I will repeat endlessly while having a good laugh.

So Guys, whenever you reach out to your phone in order to vent about the small inconveniences in life, remember to check whom you are sending your message to.👀

Believe me; you only need one lesson on this!

What an experience!!! I felt the same way one day I wrote a text complaining to a family member about a friend whose attitude was bad. To my greatest surprise, i wrongly sent the message to the same person i was talking about. Thanks God i was able to divert the conversation when she saw it. These things happen and you feel like you should just disappear.
