Life Update on Monday: Thrift Shop

They say that when you buy a second hand cloth, the soul of the owner might be following you! How true is it? Well, I know it’s just a joke!

Dear friends,

My mother and I went to a thrift shop on Monday since the kids were in their school. Mostly, they sell ukay-ukay with cheapest prices in the world. Ukay-ukay is a Filipino language that means imported used clothes. However, the clothing fabric is thicker that we cannot find on brandnew. The clothes with a comfy fabric are mostly hanged in hangers which price ranges from 50 pesos until 250. 35 pesos below are put on a table. 35 pesos is a good amount for quality clothes in Ukay-Ukay. Mostly, it is the mothers that like to buy Ukay-Ukay and I am one of them.

There are bedsheets, underwears, cap, hat, towels, facetowel, handkerchief, bags, shorts, pants, cargo pants, denim pants, blouses, teeshirts, dresses, teeshirts, sweaters, children’s clothes, apron, stuffed toy, curtains, tv covers and sofa. Even these aren’t expensive , some people can still beg the price to lower more. Before they display it, they spray it a chemical that kills germs and viruses.

In this table are the white teeshirts and blouses that only cost 25 pesos. The woman measured the white teeshirt she picked, but later that, she added another blouse. When you have 100 pesos, you can buy 4 clothes. When you only have a hundred peso on brandnew clothes, you can just buy one. 100 pesos down to 79 is the cheapest price of brandnew at the mall, but the quality is like, you’re throwing your money away because of the bad stitches, a common style and a thin fabric. Personally, I prefer to buy an ukay-ukay because their styles are unique that no one wears the same. You look expensive behind the small money you paid. It can be deceiving. Some of the Filipino celebrities have even worn Ukay-Ukay at their Galas, balls and other shows.

The prices of the assorted Tshirt in colors costs 50 pesos. It is very enticing to shop here as they have plenty of displays to pick. No doubt why this store has a lot of customers. While I was taking pictures, my baby was left in a car because I don’t want her to be in a crowded place.

This is a cute dress for my niece that costs 25 pesos only. It has a little stain, but can be removed with zonrox. However, there are many choices displayed. I didn’t buy it because there are prettier than this. It looks old and used a lot, but will be new looking surely after bleached with detergent powder and bleaching agent. I was exploring online to look for clothes with the same style, and the price there is three times expensive.

These mothers were confused which clothes to buy for their babies because there were many beautiful and stylish designs. I heard them saying, “she will surely look so pretty in it,” while the other woman says, “I think it’s better than that.” Wow, what a selfless love of a mother! They didn’t buy clothes for themselves but only for their kids.

Do you buy ukay2x for yourself? How about for your kids? Anyway, bye for now because I have a lot of things to do such as cooking her food, feeding the dogs, mopping the floor and laundry. Thanks for reading.

Thank you amazing friends @olivia08, @diosarich and @antonette.Thank you @justinparke for your kindness and delegation. Thank you @asean.hive for your unfading support. Love love all the way!

I love thrift shops too. My most fave part is either a jacket or shorts. I see you were having a great time. Happy shopping!

Mostly of my clothes are from thrift shops. From jeans to shorts and blouses. I'm very inlove with Ukay-ukay even if they say a ghost is following. Maybe I don't believe with ghosts. Hahaha

Whoa! Did you know I acquired my two pairs of leather boots from surplus, also known as ukay-ukay or UK among millennials? The tags and the scent of genuine leather still exist, indicating that it's new. Mind you, those were signature boots. Elle and Ninewest. The embossed names had not yet been wiped out, so visible! I bought the two signature boots for P500 They were definitely a good buy!🌷💞

Mostly of my clothes are Uniqlo, Nike, Addidas, Channel, Fendi, Michael Kors, Levis and other famous brands because they are from ukay2x friend. Haha! Their jeans are also branded.

We bought the same brands at the surplus store (Ukay) 😂, my friend. I just got a pair of Gap brand checkered square pants from Ukay. It fits perfectly and I adore the fabric's texture. I'll snap a picture of it and send it to you tomorrow. 🌷❤️‍🔥

Since the meme post that I saw on Facebook about Ukay-Ukay, I never trifted clothes again because I was scared that I had someone with me that I never saw because of the clothes I trifted. 😂

I'm sad to know that the price of a trifted shirt is increasing. I guess they already beat the branded clothes in pricing.

Anyway, the purple dress looks cute!

Maybe we chose the wrong shop because there are more thrift shops beside this store with lower prices than them that appeared 5-15 pesos and their expensive is 35 pesos only not including those on hangers.

I don't believe in ghosts. I grew up with Ukay2x clothes and I'm 32 now. 😂

Wow I missed buying clothes on ukay-ukay's all we need is to be patience. To find the clothes we really wanted.

Yeah with patience and energy and be sure you ate already. Hehe. It's really tiring to look for a better cloth in Ukay-ukay but it's okay because it's the only cloth I can afford.
