Good morning!! Today I want to share with the Succulent Growers community, led by @nikv, some wonderful flowers that the Astrophytum varieties offered me this morning. Throughout this post, I will also share characteristics and experiences with the species, and I hope you all enjoy it. Have a great start to the week!!

To begin, I’d like to say that my garden has become a small refuge of passion and a way to relieve stress as I start my day.

Buenos Días!! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la comunidad de Succulent Growers a cargo de @nikv, unas maravillosas flores que esta mañana me ofrecieron las variedades de Astrophytum. A lo largo de esta publicación también iré dando características y experiencias con las especies, espero sea del agrado de todos. Excelente comienzo de Semana !!

Para iniciar me apetece decirles, que mi jardín se ha convertido en un pequeño refugio de pasión y forma de liberar el estrés al comenzar el día.

The stars of this tour are my beloved Astrophytum, cacti with an almost sculptural appearance that, despite their tough and quiet demeanor, produce spectacular flowers. Their yellow and orange petals open like little suns among the soft spines and velvety textures, filling the space with serenity.

Among the first specimens you see in the photos are the Myrostigma Fukuryu, Kikko, and an Ornatum hybrid.

Las protagonistas de este recorrido son mis queridos Astrophytum, cactus de apariencia casi escultórica que, a pesar de tener un aspecto fuerte y silencioso, regalan flores espectaculares. Sus pétalos amarillos y naranjas se abren como pequeños soles entre las espinas suaves y las texturas aterciopeladas, llenando el espacio de serenidad.

Entre los primeros ejemplares que observan en las fotos está el Myrostigma Fukuryu, kikko y híbrido de Ornatum.

As I move through the nursery, I discover details that sometimes go unnoticed: the perfect symmetry of each plant, the tiny stones that beautify the pots, and the way each cactus expresses its personality.

The most majestic of them all for me will always be the Ornatum — they must always be in the collection, as they are the largest of the genus. Whether green or white, their strong, golden spines always stand out with elegance. If you have one in your garden, let me know — and if not, it's true!!

Mientras avanzo por el vivero, descubro detalles que a veces pasan desapercibidos: la simetría perfecta de cada planta, las diminutas piedras que embellecen las macetas y la manera en que cada cactus expresa su personalidad.

El más majestuoso de todos siempre para mí van a ser los Ornatum, deben estar siempre en la colección, son los más grandes del género. Ya sea verde o blanco siempre resaltarán sus espinas doradas y fuertes, con elegancia. Si tienes uno en tu jardín házmelo saber y sino es verdad!!

The impressive monstrous forms of the Kikko, which appear on several specimens, always catch your attention. Their distorted ribs and irregular patterns turn each one of these plants into a unique piece.

According to experts, the number of flowers depends on the health, size, and age of the cactus, but it is normal for it to have between one and six flowers.

Siempre llaman la atención las impresionantes formas monstruosas del kikko que aparecen en varios ejemplares. Sus costillas deformadas y patrones irregulares convierten a cada una de estas planta en una pieza única.

Según expertos el número de flores depende de la salud, el tamaño y la edad del cactus, pero lo normal es que tenga de una a seis flores.

This corner is one of my favorites in the collection. Several Asterias Superkabutos and variegated Kikko Rainbow are present — they are beautiful and don't need flowers to stand out.

Even the smallest ones are giving us little blooms. The good thing about having many flowers is that you can cross-pollinate them all, which increases the chances of getting seeds for the future, and most importantly, new babies and hybrids to take over from the adult plants in the garden.

Este rincón es de mis favoritos dentro de la colección, están presente varios Asterias Superkabutos y los variegados kikko. Rainbow, son una belleza, no necesitan presencia de flores para resaltar su apariencia.

Ya hasta los más pequeños nos regalan floraciones pequeñas, lo bueno de muchas flores es que puedes hacer polinización entre todos y así hay más posibilidades de semillas para el futuro, y lo más importante nuevos bebés y híbridos siendo el relevo de los adultos en el jardín.

These genera need plenty of bright light. The soft morning sun encourages flowering and compact growth, although variegated varieties should be protected from the intense midday sun.

They all need a little bit of soil and plenty of sand — the kind I mostly use is river sand, which provides good drainage for the container. So far, it has worked quite well for their development.

Estos géneros necesitan mucha luz brillante. El sol suave de la mañana favorece la floración y compactación, aunque las variedades variegadas deben protegerse del sol intenso del mediodía.

Todos necesitan ese poco de tierra y mucha arena, la que utilizo mayormente es de ríos, le dan buen drenaje al recipiente. Hasta ahora me ha resultado bastante al avance de ellos.

Astrophytum prefer warm, dry climates, which is why they mostly bloom in spring and summer — a perfect time for pollinating and propagating these very rewarding specimens.

In winter, it's best to keep them protected from rain and extremely low temperatures.

Los Astrophytum prefieren climas cálidos y secos, por eso mayormente sus flores son en primavera y verano, es perfecto para polinizar y reproducir estos ejemplares tan agradecidos.

En invierno conviene mantenerlos protegidos de lluvias y temperaturas extremadamente bajas.

Each planting tells a different story. Some specimens took years to reach their current form; others surprise us each season with new deformations or unexpected flowers, like the Asterias in pinkish hues.

More than just a decorative space in my home, this garden has transformed into a living collection where patience, observation, and admiration for nature coexist every single day.

Cada sembrado cuenta una historia distinta. Algunos ejemplares tardaron años en alcanzar su forma actual; otros sorprenden cada temporada con nuevas deformaciones o flores inesperadas, como el Asterias en tonalidades rosadas.

Más que un simple espacio decorativo en mi hogar, este jardín se ha transformado en una colección viva donde paciencia, observación y admiración por la naturaleza conviven todos los días.
