Estaba esperando con ganas ver esta película que estrenó Netflix hace ya unas semanas y la verdad es que no decepcionó en lo absoluto en mi opinión; desde que vi el trailer el mes pasado sabía que iba a ser una de mis películas favoritas de este año y no me equivoqué porque en serio fue muy interesante conocer esta historia.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie that Netflix premiered a few weeks ago and the truth is that it did not disappoint at all in my opinion; Since I saw the trailer last month I knew that it was going to be one of my favorite movies of this year and I was not wrong because it was really interesting to know this story.

"Luckiest Girl Alive" es catalogada en el género de "misterio/thriller" y es sin duda una de los trabajos dramáticos más interesantes en lo que Mila ha participado ya que le permitió dirigir la atención hacia otro tipo de géneros a los que nos tiene acostumbrados, aunque no es su primer papel en dramático, es uno de los más sobresalientes.

"Luckiest Girl Alive" is cataloged in the "mystery/thriller" genre and is undoubtedly one of the most interesting dramatic works in which Mila has participated since it allowed her to direct attention to another type of genres to which we are accustomed, although it is not his first dramatic role, it is one of the most outstanding.

La película, basada en el libro que lleva el mismo nombre y que fue publicado en el año 2015 por Mike Barker, narra la vida de Tiffani "Ani" Fanelli, una editora de revistas de glamour en New York que aparenta tener una vida perfecta desde el exterior, pero que ha cargado consigo un secreto que la termina destrozando desde adentro arrasando con lo que ha logrado en la vida.

The film, based on the book of the same name and published in 2015 by Mike Barker, tells the story of Tiffani "Ani" Fanelli, a magazine editor of glamor in New York who appears to have a perfect life from the outside, but who has carried with her a secret that ends up destroying her from the inside, destroying what she has achieved in life.

Ani, como se hace llamar, cambió su vida luego de asistir a una fiesta en la secundaria en donde los eventos que ahí ocurrieron marcaron su vida y la separaron de lo que era hasta ese momento de la mujer en la que se convirtió a causa de esa noche en el año 1999.

Ani, as she calls herself, changed her life after attending a high school party where the events that occurred there marked her life and separated her from what she was up to that moment from the woman in the room. who became because of that night in the year 1999.

A punto de contraer matrimonio, Ani comienza a revivir uno de los eventos que ocurrió en la escuela en la que asistía gracias a la persuasión de un director que intenta recordar a través de un documental el día en el que un tiroteo se llevó a cabo en la secundaria y resultara ella la única sobreviviente de esa masacre; ahí comienza a cuestionar las decisiones de su vida que la han llevado hasta ese punto y el cambio en ella empieza a notarse.

About to get married, Ani begins to relive one of the events that occurred at the school she attended thanks to the persuasion of a director who tries to remember through a documentary the day that a shooting took place in high school and she was the only survivor of that massacre; there she begins to question the decisions of her life that have led her to that point and her change in her begins to be noticed.

El film dura casi 2 horas y la mayoría de ese tiempo está bien justificado ya que abarca muy bien la historia de Ani y cubre tanto el pasado del personaje, como su presente. Los personajes están bien definidos, está la madre de la protagonista con su historia, el prometido de la protagonista (quien a mi parecer es el que se lleva la peor parte de la historia de Ani), el profesor de la escuela donde ella asistía, los padres del prometido, entre otros. El único personaje que no tiene mucho que resaltar en cuanto a relevancia es la mejor amiga de la protagonista, funcional como el "apoyo emocional" pero es monótona su participación.

The film lasts almost 2 hours and most of that time is well justified since it covers the history of Ani very well and covers both the character's past and present. The characters are well defined, there is the main character's mother with her story, the main character's fiancé (who in my opinion is the one who gets the worst part of Ani's story), the teacher of the school where she attended, the parents of the fiancé, among others. The only character that does not have much to highlight in terms of relevance is the protagonist's best friend, functional as _ "emotional support" _ but her participation is monotonous.

Esa es otra característica de la película, los saltos en el tiempo van y vienen, juegan con esa dinámica y creo que hace que se vea mucho más interesante. Vamos al pasado del personaje principal muchas veces, hay pequeñas recuerdos vagos pero que develan la historia que una vez ocurrió en su vida aunque se está más en el presente durante todo el film. También hay momentos de alucinaciones, aunque son pocos, causan interés en lo visual y siempre conectan con algún recuerdo trágico o doloroso en su vida.

That's another feature of the movie, the time jumps come and go, play into that dynamic and I think it makes it look a lot more interesting. We go to the past of the main character many times, there are small vague memories but they reveal the story that once happened in his life, although he is more in the present throughout the film. There are also moments of hallucinations, although they are few, they cause visual interest and always connect with some tragic or painful memory in his life.

La película aborda temas sensibles pero sumamente importantes como el consumo de alcohol en los jóvenes, violación, uso de armas de fuego en manos de menores de edad, drogas, bullying, acoso, estrés post-traumático, entre otros; todos temas bien resaltantes y relevantes para el desarrollo de la historia.

The film addresses sensitive but extremely important issues such as alcohol consumption in young people, rape, use of firearms in the hands of minors, drugs, bullying, harassment, post-traumatic stress, among others; all very outstanding and relevant topics for the development of the story.

En cuanto a producción estuvo bastante buena, aunque todo parece que se mueve en New York, hay momentos donde se ven escenarios verdes y naturales, como también hay momentos en donde nos trasladan al pasado hacia la escuela donde ocurrieron eventos importantes y eso da la oportunidad al espectador de ver la ambientación de un recuerdo que ya ocurrió.

In terms of production, it was quite good, although everything seems to be moving in New York, there are moments where green and natural settings are seen, as well as moments where we are taken back in time to the school where important events occurred and that gives us the opportunity the viewer to see the setting of a memory that has already occurred.

Hay pocas películas de drama en la que he visto a Mila actuando y la verdad me ha gustado mucho verla tomando riesgos con papeles más serios, es una muy buena actriz y este sin duda se convertirá en una de mis películas favoritas de este género de Mila como actriz de drama, no tengo la menor duda sobre eso.

There are few drama movies in which I have seen Mila acting and the truth is that I really liked seeing her taking risks with more serious roles, she is a very good actress and this will undoubtedly become one of my favorite movies of this genre of Mila As a drama actress, I have no doubt about that.

Personalmente creo que si es una de sus mejores actuaciones. Interpretó con bastante carácter un personaje bastante complejo, con múltiples capas que poco a poco fue pelando para que viéramos en que capas fue marcada y como fueron hechas esas marcas; es un rol lleno de dolor, resentimiento, mentiras y actitud, fue frágil pero muy dura consigo con ella misma pero mucho más con los demás y pudo verse ese sentir de dolor cada vez que se enfrentaba a ellos.

Personally I think if it is one of his best performances. She interpreted with a lot of character a very complex character, with multiple layers that was peeling little by little so that we could see in which layers she was marked and how those marks were made; It is a role full of pain, resentment, lies and attitude, she was fragile but very hard on herself but much more with others and that feeling of pain could be seen every time she faced them.

El climax de la película es intenso, y lo sabrás cuando lo veas porque no puede ser descrito; lo mismo con el plot twist, se puede creer hacia donde va pero al final te sorprenden porque al principio juegan contigo con fragmentos de un recuerdo recurrente en toda la película hasta que se descubre que ocurrió realmente. El final puede que haya sido abierto, a mi parecer, espero que no lo tomen para que hacer una segunda parte porque realmente no sabría desde donde lo comenzarían a trabajar, mejor dejarla como terminó.

The climax of the movie is intense, and you'll know it when you see it because it can't be described; the same with the plot twist, you can believe where it goes but in the end they surprise you because at first they play with you with fragments of a recurring memory throughout the film until it is discovered that it really happened. The end may have been open, in my opinion, I hope they don't take it to make a second part because I really wouldn't know where they would start working on it, better to leave it as it ended.
