Goals and Perspectives (The Year in Review)

Copy of goals 2023 2.png

I only had 3 simple goals way back in January 2022 which I shared here on the Hive blockchain via the Silver Bloggers community as my personal commitment for 2022, re:

Obviously, I haven't met the LeoFinance frontend yet at that time so don't be surprised that there isn't any LEO goal in there.

So how did we do with those goals?

  • I'm in excellent health. Fit and sound, both body & mind. Thanks to frequent walks in the neighborhood or into the jungle and generally positive outlook in life. I think nothing gets better than good health so I'm infinitely grateful.

    And the travel goals?

  • Fairly good. Not really impressive but I'd say it's more than enough. Although we have not been to 5 towns as the initial goal stated, we had some adventures in 3 distant provinces.

And what of the Hive Power goal?

  • Main a/c is now at 7408HP and growing.

  • Still staking $HIVE every single day since the first of January 2022.

Leo Power

  • Two months after the 3 goals was posted, Leo Power got added into the equation. A target of 500 LP was born and 5 months later, my LEO-dedicated alt account was created. The LEO staking goal got stretched quite a few times from 500 to 1500 then to 3000 to 5000 until it was finally set to 7k and achieving it on the last LPUD of the year. And then setting a new and more ambitious one for the coming 12 months.

  • Also got into the DeFi side of the Leoverse specifically Polycub and CubFinance.

And still in for the long-term on both projects, trying to do my bits in adding liquidity for both HIVE and HBD offchain.

Final update for the year

After tweaking and adjusting the numbers a couple of times, finally set them as follows.

2022 GoalCurrent
Hive Power70007408 ✅
Leo Power70007337 ✅
HBD Savings30064 Oops
POSH300263 Oops
BRO3537 ✅
CTP20003425✅

Except for HBD Savings and POSH, all other targets have been reached.

The reason why I have not grown my HBD Savings is intentional. When the price of HIVE dropped below 50 cents. I started keeping some HBD liquid and used them to buy HIVE. I'm now saving 1 HBD a day. I figured it is good to have something in that vault for the rainy days.

Personal Perspective on Goal Setting

Having goals to work on has kept me more focused this year and avoided the danger of just drifting by.

With targets set for the whole year and then reviewing and updating them occasionally, I was able to stay on track and even went beyond what I initially thought I "can." And because of that, I will certainly apply similar work around in the coming year, tweak them when necessary and strive to do even better.

Have you ever experienced getting worked up on a day where you haven't made any plans and you end up not knowing what to work on first? That's how it feels without any written goals. So I believe setting realistic ones and adjusting them from time to time is vital if we want to make some good progress.

Staying the course isn't easy but you did it all through the year smashing more than 75% of your goals. A big congrats :).

I think setting goals is that important when one is trying to achieve or reach a certain destination.

It wasn't at all. There were times when it was easier to just be lazy but thankfully, the better side often won😁

And very true, setting goals can help guide us to where we intend to go. Cheers YK and I wish you a fantastic holiday season🎄

Thankfully indeed! I know the feeling of being lazy well enough.

Thank you. I wish you the same with loads of happiness :)

I am impressed by the capacity and perseverance that you have of your investments here and of being able to make them grow even more, they are objectives that have been far exceeded haha

Some nice straightforward goals there ... makes it easier to achieve I think 😍.

We'll be launching next year's Saturday Savers Club on Saturday 7 January. You're very welcome to join us - every weekend on the @eddie-earner account. We're just now voting for the Saver of the Year.

Sason's Greetings 🎄

Congratulations on the goals you already reached! So much easier to keep on task when you have goals, otherwise your goals change or slide when you are by the seat of your pants!

You did well! I can hardly wait to see what you do this year!

Congratulations on your achievements, sis!
Effort and dedication pay off. You are awesome!
And you're right, writing down goals is very important to have a focus.

By the way, I take this opportunity to ask you if you think it was a good idea to have an alt account for Leo. I have opened one that I haven't started using yet following Ed's steps, but I have some doubts.

Thank you lots amiga :) And true that about writing goals and focus.

With regards to having an alt or not, I think it depends from person to person but personally speaking, I find it better having this alt solely for Leo.😉
