Staying Warm by the Fire

Most of our neighbors have pet cats and a few of the kitties love our yard. They come around each day looking for food. So we often have something in a feeding tray outside for them to enjoy whenever they are around. They share them with the birds, although not literally. The feathered friends enjoy what they can, but when the cats arrive, they fly away.

Yesterday afternoon, the husband went to the neighborhood and it rained heavily. He was invited to take shelter and stay warm in a young man's dirty kitchen where they brewed coffee in a traditional way - a kettle over the fire. I was actually dreaming to have one built here but it's going to remain just a dream, lol! My nostrils don't really like the smell of burning wood that's why.

While there, he met two of the family's pets - a cat and a pup. What an odd pair eh? Well, not really.

Pups and cats are good together, at least that's what I observed even in my parent's place. My niblings have cats and dogs too and they do get along well. Although there can be times when they fight but then they will be friends again.

Anyway, back to the neighbor's pets.

When the rain stopped, the husband arrived home and excitedly shown me their photos while narrating what they had been up to while the rain was pouring hard. By the looks of it, he had a bit of fun time taking photos of these two. They look adorable, yeah?

I believe they have names but I didn't ask. The husband is already in deep slumber while I was drafting this in the middle of the night. A bad headache made me go to bed so early at 7:30 pm, woke up around 11 and couldn't sleep so this.

"Oh, so you're taking my photos huh!" This adorable one seems to be saying. The he went on to show some cute poses, lol!

And what do you think this little guy was trying to say?

"Here's my fierce look. Are you digging it?"

Or more like "Ughhh, this man didn't even ask if I want a photograph."

How about "Geez, get out of here already."

LOL!

Kidding aside, it's actually heartwarming to see them, especially the first shot. They look like a couple enjoying their quiet moments together. The scene has brought me back a memory of my paternal grandparents who loved to spend their evenings by the fireplace. Aah, the nostalgia :)

Anyhow, we will be on the road today. The husband thought we'd go for a ride, do some random stuff, probably visit some places then meet my brother on Friday. His new truck arrived and we're excited to see it before he sends it to the shop to have it customized.

Until then, happy Thursday frens!

It seems the cat and dog both are good friends according to the first picture. Both of them look cute, especially the cat. I liked it very much. The cat trying to say "Why you are taking my picture without my permission? It's a crime."

They are certainly good together. And haha, that seems right. The farmboy should have asked before taking shots lol!

It's a lovely story and interesting to read..It's lovely to hear about the harmony between your neighbors' pets, the cats, and the pup. It makes me remember back then when I had dogs and puppies, they sometimes create connection with the other puppies too and we all play together..This is a good memory you have shared and you reminded me of my old days.

Hope to share more when I get my new dog...😎😎😃
