Today, I Allow Myself to be Lazy

(Edited)

Woke up to this imagery (an embroidery on our quilt or duvet) which made me remember we are at the other house. I'm still dead tired like I have been into a grueling, physical activities that I can't even lift my own arms, lol!

This is often the case when I spend a day (or even hours) in the midst of many people. I sometimes wonder why others seem to suck out and drain all my energy even when I do enjoy their company. Aah, the very challenge an introverted soul must live with, a trait which sometimes can be both a blessing and a curse.

We came home Sunday afternoon and have been busy preparing stuff for Mom's 71st birthday celebration.

We had to do it in advance because it was the only available schedule for their church leaders to officiate the ceremony. As usual, family and relatives from both sides (Mom & Dad's) plus the neighborhood came together yesterday (Monday) for the celebration.

I guess that is one of the best cultures here in the locality that I appreciate much and hope that it will never go away and will live through generations, people coming together for each other's events - may it be for happy occasions (such as the one we just had) or in sorrow and in grief.

The challenge of such is the bigger turnout and that means the need to make sure every single one of them gets fed (and that includes any pet they came with, lol!).

The good thing?

Immediate neighbors came early to help in the food preparations, cooking, and then of course serving them during meal time. I always feel indebted to the people who often go the extra mile and extend their helping hands to us on every family occasion which my father seems to love hosting in a big way.

I'm thankful that everything turned out great, Mom's happy at 71, doing well, recovering better and so my heart feels blissful.

But I'm really tired... so for today, I'm allowing myself to be lazy... My poor body needs to recuperate and I guess that includes my mind too.

Thank you and I wish you a glorious new week!

Smile... laugh often... love more... be happy and grateful ALWAYS!

Hello, sis!
Happy belated birthday to your mom. I'm glad she is fine and recovering.
If the body asks for rest, you have to give it to it, so the best thing you can do today is to be lazy and have some rest. I also get a bit exhausted when I'm among a lot of people, I don't know if I'm becoming older, hehe.
And speaking of birthdays, if I remember correctly, yours is on Saturday. So get your strength up and rest to celebrate, amiga 🤗

Many thanks sis, yes Mom is getting fuller hehe, she seems to be gaining weight and her face looking brighter and with color unlike before when she looked pale.

I also get a bit exhausted when I'm among a lot of people, I don't know if I'm becoming older, hehe.

We must be getting old, lol! It's hard because the exhaustion is worst compared to when we do physical activities. And the headache, oh my...

You are right sis, Mom and I have the same birthday but she did hers in advance and with lots of people. As for me, I prefer simpler and quiet hehe :) Thank you lots and have an awesome evening.

I'm glad your mother is doing much better, sis.
The mental fatigue of being among many people is indeed worse than that tiredness caused by physical exercise, lol.
Have a great day 😊😄🤗

Glad you had a wonderful celebration for your mom :-)
While you take your well deserved rest, for me it just starts because we celebrate my dads 80 ! on saturday there will be a lot of people too.
With barbecue and my sister wanna build a 80 out if 4 different cakes, wich could turn out chaos LOL

Many congratulation to your mom. It is great to celebrate these milestones.
It is good that you allow yourself to be lazy - we need to follow our bodies sometimes. The mind might think otherwise.

I hope you are relaxing and recuperating well.
It is great that your parent like in such a supportive community. My grandparents had that too and it was lovely.

Thank you for your warm greetings, it was such a great day :) We had a wonderful rest too and yes, the might was saying otherwise but the body won, lol!

The local community at my parent's is nice that they still practice the old culture of supporting one another which is beautiful. They seem to have one mind, they just arrived and started cooking and doing stuff :)
