IS RELIGION MEANT TO BE THIS TOXIC?

One God multiple religions it is but then...
I thought religion is meant to keep us on track
I thought religion is built on peace.
I thought we all have one God but multiple religions and so we have no reason to fight over religious matters

How on earth did we get to this part?
Why are we worshipping the wrong side of religion?

I was not going to write about this at first but with the heat and everything happening here in my country had to let this out.

A video was trending sometimes last week of how a 200-level student in shehu shagari college of education was stoned and burnt to death over alleged blasphemy.

The news reaching was that she made a blasphemy post of prophet Muhammad (SAW) and all because of this she was stoned and burned to death

I don't know much about religion so I'm just going to let this out and just speak from my point of view.

Is killing the right attitude toward blasphemy?

well here is what I think.

I think my country is just too emotionally attacked by religion to the point that we get blinded by the truth and we cannot reason beyond sentiment.

I think many people practice religion for personal desires.

I think the government is not helping enough in giving fast response to people's aid when maters about killing occur, not just about Deborah but on different occasions just like somebody killed and burned in lekki over disagreement of #100 and nothing is done, issues like this makes killing increase day by day because they feel no one is there to punish them

I think so many people just manipulate religion to cover up their bad deeds

The issue got heated up and followers were demanding the release of those who persecuted Deborah which led to protests and chaos that got some churches burnt and a curfew was eventually proposed to curb the chaos.

The problem is not religion

The problem is people reading negative meanings to religion

The problem is seeing other religions as a threat to an individual

The problem is accommodating too many bad as a country without caution

The problem is people themselves seeing religion as a way out of their evil deeds

The problem is individuals are blinded by the truth and use religion as a shield

The moment we realize the problem the earlier we get a better Nigeria.
The earlier we get to build one Nigeria.

Religion is built on peace and we all are aware of that.

It is okay to have multiple religion
it is okay to serve a God you believe is best
it is okay to be of different religion the most important part is living in peace
