The milanese group of bikers I 'm speaking about in 2001

In these days a story of impersonation that I did not know has come to the fore and has therefore made me remember a fact that happened to me 20 years ago ...

At the time, maybe you won't believe it, the internet already existed, being a passionate motorcyclist I had started to attend the forum of a site, moto.it that still exists, even if the old forum ended up in some attic.
If you see it now it will seem nothing short of old, know that it was also in 1999 and it was already old then and has never changed in these 20 and more years.

Be that as it may, despite its shortcomings, a huge group of national enthusiasts and specific, let's say, local subgroups formed around this forum.
I belonged to the Milanese subgroup, then things went very quickly from virtual to real, we soon began to meet every Friday evening in a, then, famous brewery for bikers, the Blues Bikers that still exists, in Via Brioschi 7 in Milan, Navigli area.

In fact it was a place for Harleys' owners, but none of the group formed around the forum of moto.it owned a Harley, we mostly had street bikes, mixed road / enduro and various stuff, but, as far as I remember, no Harley.

The Milanese group was then made up of a hundred people, of these, at least forty were almost every Friday at the Blues Bikers, we were so many that the largest salon was reserved for us, we made a messy mess and we had a lot of fun, both to drink beer, both in our motorbike outings.

Obviously on the forum we were only nicknames and there were also quite a few people who had never seen each other in person, had never come to the brewery, nor to one of the many motorbike outings.

In this context a nice day a new nickname "Lady" appears.

The group did not lack girls, both as "backpacks" and as motorcyclists, they were, however, a minority.
This new patron of the group presented itself, already from the nickname, as a particular case.

She was from Milan city, she was only 18 years old, she was very fond of motorcycles, GP motorcycles and, above all, Superbike.
She knew all about all the bikes and models also from a technical point of view, her ideal bike was the Yamaha R1, I think I remember 1998 or 1997, in short, the last without limiter; she was witty, always with a ready, shrewd, friendly joke, she didn't have a motorbike but she couldn't wait to be a "backpack" for someone in the group.

Some had already fallen in love without even knowing her, she embodied the most palatable a motorcyclist wanted ...

Others questioned its existence and believed she was an invention of some jokers from the Milan group.

I was definitely part of the second group, every question "Lady" always answered with what we all wanted to hear answered by our ideal travel companion.

Not only that, she had a leather biker suit, despite never having owned a motorcycle or a boyfriend or a biker friend, bought in the hope of being able to use it ...

Many tried to catch her out of the way with a few tricky questions, hoping to find out who was who invented this fantasy "character", but the girl always answered in tone, never falls in contradiction, in short, a difficult case.

Of course many began to invite her both to our outings and to our evenings in the brewery.

Unfortunately, however, "Lady" did not have a scooter, nor a motorbike, nor a car and not even a driving license.
She lived on the opposite side of Milan and did not trust to come with the buses in the Navigli area.

For the motorbike outings there was the problem that the parents did not trust to let her go with strangers, etc. etc.

In short, this intriguing and mysterious "Lady", ideal "backpack" and girl of many talents, there was no way to see her in person.

One fine day there was a twist, the girl said she worked in the center of Milan and we could see each other without problems during the lunch break.

I was, then, one of the 4-5 forum goers who worked in the center and I could have participated in this fateful rendezvous without problems, but smelling an ambush, I declined the invitation citing work apologies, while, the two who personally I suspected more, for their particularly goliardic nature and for the fact that they were friends long before the acquaintance on the forum, well these two were the only ones to accept the invitation.

I do not hide from you that I was tempted to go secretly to see if there was no one or, simply the two of them would have found themselves laughing at the others in the group or what else.

Eventually, after the lunch break, the two returned to the forum to give an account of the meeting with the phantom "Lady".

Did this girl really exist?

The two explained that she exists, she was just as you guessed from the forum, but last but not least, she was also a beautiful girl with very long hair, hazel eyes and a mischievous and mocking smile.

In short, not only was she all desirable as a person, she was also beautiful.

At that point even the least inclined to conspiracy, not at all convinced of the good faith and reliability of the two, were inclined to believe that she was an invention of the magical duo to make fun of the rest of the group, in particular the males looking for a girl.

Lady became less likeable to most, began to be ignored or otherwise treated as a character rather than as a person.

At that point Lady, who said her name was Michela in the real world, decided that she would find the way and would introduce herself, coincidentally being accompanied on a Friday night at the Blues Bikers by one of the two she had met for lunch in the center.

Where did the two want to go?

Maybe they wanted to finally end the joke that had lasted far too long.

That Friday evening, however, we were all waiting for the epilogue of this impersonation story, even though, on how it would end, there were various schools of thought.

At one point the boy who had to accompany her entered ... followed by a girl who perfectly matched the description.

I confess that throughout the evening I was undecided whether to think that the two had found an "appearance" or if in the end this Michela / Lady really existed.

For a few days I was left with a glimmer of doubt.

The reality was, however, very simple, it was all absolutely true, the suspicions were completely unfounded, Michelina was exactly as she described herself, she knew everything she seemed to know, she was as she appeared on the forum, in short, I, and all the other suspects, we had wasted a sea of illusions for nothing.

In the following years "Lady" was an important part of my life, often a backpack, a friend with whom to share lunch breaks, endless evenings, laughter etc.

We then lost sight of each other, attending other groups and other friends; I don't know what happened to her, but I can say that her was not a fake profile ...
