Esta semana ha sido dura… pero también hermosa.

En nuestro hospital, los resultados hablan más allá de los números. Hablan de personas que, a pesar del agotamiento, los apagones nocturnos, y las carreras para cocinar cuando hay electricidad, seguimos poniéndonos la bata cada día. No es fácil operar con pocas horas de sueño encima, con el calor apretando y la cabeza llena de preocupaciones, pero aún así, ahí estamos. Firmes. Con bisturí en mano y el corazón puesto en cada niño que entra a nuestro quirófano.

Formo parte de un equipo quirúrgico que no se rinde. Que se levanta temprano, que da el 100% aunque haya dormido apenas unas horas. Que sigue creyendo que vale la pena lo que hacemos, aunque el salario no alcance y las condiciones no siempre estén a nuestro favor. Seguimos porque amamos esta profesión. Porque hay algo más grande que el cansancio: la vocación.

Y en medio de todo, esta semana tuvimos una sorpresa linda: nuestra jefa de servicio nos tomó una foto mientras estábamos concentrados en plena cirugía. No estábamos posando, ni sonriendo. Solo haciendo lo que sabemos hacer, lo que nos nace del alma. Y al ver esa imagen después, sentí orgullo. Orgullo del equipo que somos, de cómo nos apoyamos, de cómo no dejamos que las circunstancias nos quiten el compromiso ni el amor por lo que hacemos.

No sé qué nos espera la próxima semana. Pero sí sé que volveremos a estar ahí. Con el mismo amor, la misma entrega… y la misma esperanza.

At our hospital, the results speak beyond the numbers. They speak of people who, despite exhaustion, late night outages, and races to cook when the power is on, we still put on our gowns every day. It's not easy to operate with little sleep on top of it, with the heat pressing in and a head full of worries, but still, there we are. Steady. With scalpel in hand and our hearts set on each child that enters our operating room.

I am part of a surgical team that does not give up. That gets up early, that gives 100% even if it has only slept a few hours. That continues to believe that what we do is worthwhile, even if the salary is not enough and the conditions are not always in our favor. We continue because we love this profession. Because there is something greater than fatigue: vocation.

And in the middle of it all, this week we had a nice surprise: our chief of service took a picture of us while we were concentrating in the middle of surgery. We were not posing, nor smiling. Just doing what we know how to do, what comes from our soul. And when I saw that picture afterwards, I felt proud. Pride in the team we are, in how we support each other, in how we do not let circumstances take away our commitment and love for what we do.

I don't know what's in store for us next week. But I do know that we will be there again. With the same love, the same commitment... and the same hope.
