I have always wanted to be an On Air Personality so this was a great opportunity for me to fulfill my dream, as I had always had a passion for broadcasting. The station is an hour drive from my house and I thought it was always going to be a smooth ride to work. On the Monday morning I was to resume, I woke up early and prepared for work, I got to the park tried getting a bus to my destination but to my greatest surprise I was told that the bus can only stop at a particular point which is still another thirty minutes drive to my office. I thought to myself it cannot be that bad atleast I will see another vehicle which will transport me to my destination. On getting to the last bus stop everyone came down from the bus and I noticed that it was motor-cycles that everyone used, I asked why it was so and I was told that the road is terrible, I boarded a bike and I was afraid that I might get hurt because of how dumpy the road is. We go to a bridge and I was shocked at the state of the bridge, that it could collapse at anytime, I asked the motorcyclist how the coped and he said they community has lost many indigene at the point of crossing the bridge. The bridge is so narrow and shaky, I thought to myself don't we have a government?, what are they doing with the tax or funds they have been borrowing. I got to the office and all of the new employees looked tired and worn-out, we all complained of the same the thing, "the bad road".
The community where my office is located is an agricultural settlement, there is a vast fertile land which if it is put to use will bring a great economic growth and development to the community. I could see farmers in their farms weeding and some harvesting their crop, when I asked about how profitable farming is to them they all complained and told me how if the had equipments and machines they would have better yield and be more productive. Accessibility to the farm is a major factor in agriculture, this aids production and distribution.
It was time to go back home and I was scared again, I boarded a motorcycle and it looked fun until we got to a particular spot on the road and we fell off the motorcycle, it was so scary , I was soaked with dirty water and my dress dirty. A lady who was passing by helped me to stand up and gave me her wrapper cover the dirty. It was just some metres away from the bridge and who knows what would have happened. I thank God for my life. The road as been like that for years and no one cares , and according to stories so many people have lost their life. I was just so scared throughout the remaining part of the journey until I got to the bus stop. I got home and reflected on the events of that day.

A good and accessible road is very important to the development of a particular area , that is if the government will accept it's responsibility and prioritize agriculture . It will be a very good source income for Nigerians.
