Una ciudad iluminada es la primera escena de ésta película. En uno de los grandes edificios se encuentra una mujer viendo las cámaras de seguridad del lugar, hasta que alguien por radio le dice que haga un recorrido por lo que las cámaras quedan solas. Una mujer llamada Andrea está en su oficina y llama a un oficial de policías, pero no le contesta. Por lo que le deja un mensaje en el buzón de voz afirmando que estaba muy asustada y que sentía que alguien la seguia vigilando. Al cortar el mensaje agarra sus cosas y dudosamente entra al elevador del edificio. Las puertas se cierran y a Andrea se le ve muy nerviosa; cuando le entra una llamada telefónica desconocida y al contestar un hombre le dice las palabras "Andrea, así es cono termina el mundo". Andrea comienza a sentir pánico y aumenta al momento en el que el elevador se detiene a mitad de bajada. Comienza a gritar y a intentar abrir la puerta pero de repente las paredes comienzan a cerrarse más y mas hasta aplastarla por completo.

La escena ahora cambia y un auto estaciona frente s una casa hermosa dónde hay una fiesta. Quien viene en el auto es la protagonista, Jenn, quien trae una planta muerta en sus manos a la reunión. Su amiga abre la puerta y luego de una explicación de que Jenn se bebió el vino, su amiga le dice que un hombre llamado Brian está en la fiesta. El entrar,mientras bebe una copa de vino, el otro anfitrión se acerca para disculparse por invitar a Brian, quien es ex pareja de Jenn. A la conversación se une el doctor Collin Meade, hombre que le presentan a Jenn como el mejor psiquiatra y que debería ir a verlo. El doctor y Jenn quedan a solas y luego de una pregunta graciosa de Jenn, lo deja ahí solo y se dirige hacia sus amigos y Brian quienes hablaban en una mesa. Hablando sobre un nuevo proyecto de Brian, se acerca el doctor y le pregunta a Jenn a qué se dedica y Brian menciona que es una exelente ingeniera. Luego de un rato, Jennifer se va pero antes, el doctor le da su tarjeta y se va. Cuando está afuera se le acerca Brian y luego de una corta despedida él se detiene para decirle que la extraña y que piensa en ella todo el tiempo. Jenn le dice que no le diga esas cosas ya que la hace parecer la mala de la historia y que ella no lo es, que nadie lo es. Brian le propone llevarla a su casa y luego de un par de dudas ella acepta.

Amanece y se ve a Jennifer acostada don camisa y una carta en la almohada de al lado de parte de Brian que dice que la llamará luego. Jenn sale a tomar un café con su amiga y le cuenta lo que pasó con Brian. Luego de una charla sobre que Jenn parece estar infeliz, su amiga le recomienda visitar a su psiquiatra, el doctor de la reunión, pero luego de quejarse de no querer ir, su amiga le pide que lo haga por ella y termina accediendo a ir.

Pasan los días hasta que es el de la cita con el doctor, y Jenn llega a su consultorio. Se sienta a esperar por ser llamada y se abre la gran puerta y sale una mujer con aspecto muy extraño. La mujer le habla a Jenn y le dice que lo que sea que tenga, el doctor lo curará.

Jenn pasa a la sala y encuentra al doctor alimentando a su pez, hasta que se voltea y le menciona que las personas que tienen peces les reduce el estrés y baja la presión. Se sientan para la sesión y Jenn empieza a hablar sobre que se siente desmotivada y ya no quiere hacer cosas como dormir o ejercitarse. Él comenta que los malos hábitos vienen con problemas más profundos y le pregunta cuál podría ser el de ella. Le pide que hable sobre Brian y luego de una breve descripción irónica de él, se dispone a contar cómo se conocieron y de su vida juntos. Le cuenta que perdió un embarazo; su bebé nació muerto a los seis meses y a raíz de eso ella y Brian no pudieron seguir juntos. Al escuchar eso, el doctor Collin le comenta sobre la Hipnoterapia, y al ver que Jenn se niega a darle el poder de su mente a otra persona, él dice que ella es quien va a tener el control todo el tiempo y que es muy bueno para las personas que han sufrido traumas. Jenn duda, y para convencerla Collin cita a su mentir quien dice que el que quiere resultados duraderos mantendría abierta su mente.

La convence y proceden a ir a la sala de hipnosis. La luz parpadea y Jenn está acostada en un sofá mientras el doctor le indica en lo que debe concentrarse. Le dice que se visualice en un bosque y mientras Jenn está inmersa en su propia mente, se corta la imagen y despierta. Al ver el reloj, una hora pasó. Collin le pregunta cómo se siente y Jenn dice que no recuerda absolutamente nada.

Pasan tres meses desde la primera sesión y ahora Jenn está haciendo yoga con su mejor amiga. Hablan sobre que han contratado a Jennifer para un empleo y que le ha ido bastante bien desde que empezó con la hipnoterapia. Dice que va una vez por semana desde hace tres meses y su amiga le dice que está muy orgullosa. En la noche, mientras dormía, tiene un extraño sueño de ella acostada en la cama con el doctor, en el que él le dice que es perfecta. Al despertar se siente extraña, pero no le presta atención y sigue durmiendo.

Despierta en la mañana y mientras en un lugar observa a una madre dándole cariño a su hijo, aparece el doctor por mera coincidencia. Se ponen al día y ella le dice que no ha ido en varias semanas pues ahora con su nuevo empleo no tiene tiempo. Él se alegra y le invita un café, a lo que Jenny acepta y se van a otro lugar. Mientras hablan de la perfecta vida de Collin, ella le dice que sea menos reservado y que le cuente sobre su vida. Comenta que es hijo unico y que estuvo casado una vez pero que su esposa falleció. Se acerca a Jenny y en una toma un poco incómoda él le quita una pestaña caída en el pómulo de ella. Comienzan s hablar sobre la situación de Brian y cuando ella le dice que lo está evitando, sorprendentemente Collin le da un consejo y le dice que ésta misma noche lo invite a cenar ya que hablar sobre la situación sería bueno para ella y para Brian. Jenny se va, y al bajar de su auto recibe un mensaje de Brian aceptando su invitación y diciéndole que se verían ahí.

Su celular vuelve a sonar y es una llamada de un número desconocido. Al contestar, Jenny se empieza a comportar muy extraño y lo próximo que muestran en la película es a ella sentada pacíficamente en su sala cuando se estremece de repente. Vuelve en sí misma y al voltearse encuentra que Brian está en el baño de su casa completamente inconsciente, rodeado de vómito y teniendo un ataque sin poder respirar. Jennifer se apresura a buscar una inyección ya que él tiene alergias y siempre tiene una jeringa para casos de emergencia. Acto seguido se la inyecta en la pierna rápidamente y llama una ambulancia. No sabe qué pasó, no sabe cómo ocurrió, simplemente de un momento a otro se encontró en esa situación alarmante en su propia casa.

Es una película bastante tensa, dan ganas de seguir viendo más y más para saber qué pasará luego de cada escena. Tiene muchas incógnitas y dan tantas pistas sobre todo que al verla una segunda vez fácilmente todo se conecta. La recomiendo a las personas fanáticas de un buen thriller, juega mucho con la mente y crea curiosidad sobre cada tema de la película.

An illuminated city is the first scene of this film. In one of the large buildings is a woman watching the security cameras of the place, until someone on the radio tells her to make a tour so the cameras are left alone. A woman named Andrea is in her office and calls a police officer, but he doesn't answer. So she leaves a message on his voicemail stating that she was very scared and felt that someone was watching her. When the message is cut off, she grabs her things and hesitantly enters the building's elevator. The doors close and Andrea looks very nervous, when an unknown phone call comes in and a man answers and says the words "Andrea, this is how the world ends". Andrea begins to panic and it increases when the elevator stops halfway down. She begins to scream and tries to open the door but suddenly the walls begin to close in more and more until they crush her completely.

The scene now changes and a car parks in front of a beautiful house where there is a party. Who comes in the car is the protagonist, Jenn, who brings a dead plant in her hands to the gathering. Her friend opens the door and after an explanation that Jenn drank the wine, her friend tells her that a man named Brian is at the party. He enters, while sipping a glass of wine, the other host approaches to apologize for inviting Brian, who is Jenn's ex-partner. Joining the conversation is Dr. Collin Meade, a man who is introduced to Jenn as the best psychiatrist and that she should go see him. The doctor and Jenn are left alone and after a funny question from Jenn, she leaves him there alone and heads over to her friends and Brian who were talking at a table. Talking about Brian's new project, the doctor approaches and asks Jenn what she does for a living and Brian mentions that she is an excellent engineer. After a while, Jennifer leaves but first, the doctor gives her his card and leaves. When she is outside she is approached by Brian and after a short goodbye he stops to tell her that he misses her and thinks about her all the time. Jenn tells him not to say those things to her as it makes her sound like the bad guy in the story and that she isn't, no one is. Brian proposes to take her home and after a couple of hesitations she accepts.

Dawn breaks and Jennifer is seen lying shirtless with a letter on the pillow next to her from Brian saying he'll call her later. Jenn goes out for coffee with her friend and tells her what happened with Brian. After a chat about Jenn seeming unhappy, her friend recommends she visit her psychiatrist, the doctor at the meeting, but after complaining about not wanting to go, her friend asks her to do it for her and she ends up agreeing to go.

Days go by until it's the doctor's appointment, and Jenn arrives at his office. She sits down to wait to be called and the big door opens and a very strange looking woman comes out. The woman speaks to Jenn and tells her that whatever she has, the doctor will cure it.

Jenn walks into the room and finds the doctor feeding her fish, until she turns around and mentions that people who have fish reduce their stress and lower their blood pressure. They sit down for the session and Jenn starts talking about how she feels unmotivated and doesn't want to do things like sleep or exercise anymore. He comments that bad habits come with deeper problems and asks what hers might be. He asks her to talk about Brian and after a brief ironic description of him, she sets out to tell how they met and about their life together. She tells him that she lost a pregnancy; her baby was stillborn at six months and as a result she and Brian could no longer be together. Hearing that, Dr. Collin tells her about Hypnotherapy, and seeing that Jenn refuses to give the power of her mind to someone else, he says that she is the one who will be in control all the time and that it is very good for people who have suffered trauma. Jenn hesitates, and to convince her Collin quotes his liar who says that he who wants lasting results would keep his mind open.

He convinces her and they proceed to the hypnosis room. The light flickers and Jenn is lying on a couch while the doctor tells her what to concentrate on. He tells her to visualize herself in a forest and while Jenn is immersed in her own mind, the image is cut off and she awakens. Looking at the clock, an hour has passed. Collin asks her how she feels and Jenn says she remembers absolutely nothing.

Three months pass since the first session and now Jenn is doing yoga with her best friend. They talk about Jennifer being hired for a job and that she has been doing quite well since she started hypnotherapy. She says she's been going once a week for the past three months and her friend tells her she's very proud. At night, while sleeping, she has a strange dream of her lying in bed with the doctor, in which he tells her she is perfect. When she wakes up she feels strange, but pays no attention to it and continues sleeping.

She wakes up in the morning and while in one place she observes a mother giving affection to her child, the doctor appears by mere coincidence. They catch up and she tells him that she hasn't been in several weeks because she doesn't have time with her new job. He is happy and invites her for coffee, to which Jenny accepts and they go somewhere else. As they talk about Collin's perfect life, she tells him to be less secretive and tell her about his life. He comments that he is an only child and that he was married once but his wife passed away. He approaches Jenny and in a slightly awkward shot he removes a fallen eyelash on her cheekbone. They start s talking about Brian's situation and when she tells him that she is avoiding him, surprisingly Collin gives her advice and tells her to invite him over for dinner tonight as talking about the situation would be good for her and Brian. Jenny leaves, and as she gets out of her car she gets a text from Brian accepting her invitation and telling her that they would meet there.

Her cell phone rings again and it's a call from an unknown number. Upon answering it, Jenny starts acting very strange and the next thing they show in the film is her sitting peacefully in her living room when she suddenly shudders. She comes to and upon turning around she finds Brian is in the bathroom of her home completely unconscious, surrounded by vomit and having a seizure unable to breathe. Jennifer rushes to get an injection as he has allergies and always has a syringe for emergencies. She then quickly injects it into his leg and calls an ambulance. She doesn't know what happened, she doesn't know how it happened, she just found herself in this alarming situation in her own home.

It is quite a tense film, it makes you want to keep watching more and more to find out what will happen after each scene. It has many unknowns and gives so many clues about everything that when watching it a second time everything easily connects. I recommend it to people who are fans of a good thriller, it plays a lot with the mind and creates curiosity about each theme of the film.
