Hello all of you Hive Gaming readers, I was actually thinking of releasing part 2 of Frostpunk much earlier, but as some of you already know, my internet is incredibly bad right now. My download speed is probably 50 kbps and I don't think I need to mention my upload speed. It takes me a few minutes just to upload a photo here, which sucks. Normally I would like to share gameplay videos with you but that's impossible right now. I think 2 weeks from now my internet will be fixed because I'm thinking of getting a new internet connection at home, and because my internet connection is so bad, Frostpunk will probably be the only game post you'll see in those 2 weeks. I hope you won't get bored with this. Probably after 3 posts the Frostpunk series will be over. I don't know what will happen since I haven't written the other posts yet.

Enough of this rant. Going back to the game, last time on the evening of the first day our people took a break from working and some of them were resting in the tents we made for them and some were resting around the generator. I had also built a mess hall and a hunting lodge for raw food. If you want to know more about the first chapter you can read it by clicking here.

As the night went on people sent me a message, as you know we came here after a journey and there were people left behind. Our people want to find them. So they want us to build a workshop and a beacon and find and rescue people. Of course I will do my best to fulfill their wishes.

In the daytime you can put your people to work during working hours and they are not just sitting idle. You can ask them to build something. At night I built the workshop and started the research to build the beacon.

What do you mean by research? When you build the workshop the tech tree opens and you can get upgrades from there, you can do research to build different buildings and more. I love the details of this game.

In the morning I could introduce a new law and I did! Unfortunately I introduced a law for children to work. Because if we go like this we will never progress fast enough and they will only do safe work. We have to make some sacrifices to survive.

At the end of the 2nd day's work people come and ask me to build them shelters. I have 3 options. Shelter half of them, shelter all of them or ignore them. If I shelter half of them there will be some hope, if I shelter all of them there will be more hope and if I ignore them there will be more discontent. If I say I will provide them with shelter and I don't build a tent within 2 days, hope will decrease and discontent will increase. I said I would provide shelter for all of them because I had enough wood and I wanted people's hope to increase a lot. Immediately after that I made 4 tents and hope increased.

I built the beacon, we formed a team of scouts and I sent them to find the people. They found the people and I chose to escort them to the city. You can send them to the city but then they die and I don't want them to die.

On the morning of the 4th day something terrible happened and the temperatures dropped by 20 degrees. Already at -20 degrees people are struggling and now you can see on the map that in some places if people work they will freeze and most probably they will get sick. I also like this animation that happens when it gets colder, ice starts to grow on the edges of the screen. That's why I told people who are working in cold places to stop for now and go home. I'm also continuing to send our scouts to other places. Let's hope they bring us good news.

I wanted the workers collecting steel to keep working because we need a lot of steel, but one of the workers got frostbite. You always have to be very careful in the game because it punishes you very quickly. I had to sign a law about it and I chose the radical cure for humans. People can be amputated but they can also be cured. We will see what will happen. The other option was to put them in bed for life, which I didn't want.
I also researched sawmills as there is a limited supply of collectible wood on the map. I built my first sawmill and built a few gathering points, which allow people to gather resources without freezing.

You need to develop your workshop to be able to research more advanced things. That's exactly what I'm doing. Because at this stage there is nothing left for me to research. And some people continue to work in the cold and get sick, but there's nothing I can do about that. Because if we want to survive we have to do something. That's the only way.

In the game you can see the temperature layers. As you can see, everything is cold right now except the generator. Some of them are cool, but keeping them all habitable is not possible at this level of technology. You can also see thermometer markings. This is because I have researched and activated the heaters. When they are activated, each building is 10 degrees warmer. So they go from cold to cool and people are less likely to get sick.

My fear came true and one of our people became an amputee. We will need to build a nursing home to take care of him and future amputees. I had to sign the necessary law because you don't have many options in this situation. If you ignore it, people get very discontent.

One of the people refuses to have his leg amputated, even if it means dying. I'm sorry, man, we have to do this. Your survival is more important. My decision was clear, I ordered his leg amputated and he'll be an amputee, I hope he doesn't make a fuss about it.
