Siguiendo con esta maravillosa iniciativa propuesta por la amiga @nathyortiz, dónde nos pide que hablemos de un libro de diferente géneros durante 7 días, esta vez toca un libro escrito por una mujer, esta dinámica me parece interesante y educativa ya que nos sumergen en el mundo maravilloso de la lectura.

El libro que escogí en esta oportunidad es Flores en el Atico escrito por Virginia C. Andrews, lo leí hace años una buena amiga me lo prestó y me lo recomendó y su lectura me cautivo, ya que esta novela abordan temas controversiales como lo son el incesto, fanatismo religioso , ambición ,asesinato etc.

The book I chose this time is Flowers in the Attic written by Virginia C. Andrews, I read it years ago a good friend lent it to me and recommended it to me and its reading captivated me, since this novel addresses controversial issues such as incest, religious fanaticism, ambition, murder etc..

La historia se centra en el encierro al que estuvieron sometidos cuatro hermanos (Chris,Cathy,Cory y Carrie) por parte de su madre(corrine) en un ático, esto sucedió a raíz de la muerte del padre de estos niños en un accidente, la madre que nunca había trabajado al verse llena de deudas toma la decisión de irse a vivir a la mansión de sus padres y la condición que su madre (Olivia)la aceptará era que encerrara a sus hijos en el ático para que el abuelo (Malcolm) no se enterara de la existencia de esos niños.

La lectura de esta novela te va atrapando a medida que lo vas leyendo ir descubriendo todas las situaciones que tienen que atravesar estos hermanos, desde acondicionar el ático para poder vivir allí sin salir y sin hacer ruido para no ser descubiertos, tener que soportar los maltratos de los que son víctimas por parte de su abuela y también sentir poco a poco el abandono de su madre y las mentiras que ésta inventa sólo por heredar, allí también empieza a surgir un pequeño enamoramiento entre los hermanos mayores (Chris y Cathy) y algunos secretos de la familia qué salen a relucir todo esto convierte esta historia en una obra maestra tan es así que se convirtió en un bestseller y una saga. Este libro es realmente interesante, lo recomiendo no se arrepentirán.
