Hello, my dear brothers and sisters. Greetings respect and blessings. Introducing, my name is Zein Grind from the Indonesia Bersatu band. Today, I will present a cover song entitled "17 August" created by Husein Mutahar or familiarly called Mutahar. This song is my participation for the weekly Hive OpenMic event which has entered its 175th week, with the theme Reflect Your Spirituality which was chosen by our friend @milasalazar.

For me, spirituality is subjective. Spiritual reflection involves deep self-understanding and personal responses to complex life situations. Therefore, I performed a cover of the song 17 August with my version. This song is the song of independence as well as the national song of Indonesia. In my opinion, the spiritual reflection that I have is to achieve independence. Incidentally, tomorrow is Indonesia's 78th Independence Day.

For me, this song is an encouragement for the freedom fighters who have succeeded in expelling colonialism, colonialism and imperialism that were once present in Indonesia. Although this country is already independent, I feel that it is not. There are still many Indonesians who experience oppression, hunger and poverty. I feel that the Indonesian people are still being colonised by their people. Officials and the government still often commit corruption, collusion and nepotism that harm the Indonesian people.

With this 17 August song that I performed. I hope that true independence can be achieved by all Indonesian people along with justice and truth. The struggle is not over yet, and I will continue to sing and voice songs that lead to true independence. Independence without oppression, and without corruption that harms the people of Indonesia.
