My first trial on making a dress ( a cooperate dress)

So today i want to share to you on how i made this long dress with slit

It's actually my first time of sowing a complete dress
Ive always had this dream of becoming a fashion designer buh ive been so busy with school
So with time luck got me and my aunt who came to stay with us is a fashion designer,so i used that chance to watch whatever she does
After several weeks of watching i decided to try something out myself
Here are the processes i used

Firstly i had my measurements written down, and my material ready
The first step i used was to bend the material into two equal parts and i used the biggest part of my body for the main measurements
My hips was the biggest part which is 36,
I divided 36 into two and then measureed with my tape ,all other parts were measured the same way with 2 inches Allowances each
That was how I arrived at the front part

After getting the accurate measurements i made use of my scissors to cut it out

After cutting it out i used the same front part to get the back part but it wasn't the same size,i had to add extra allowance which served as the zipper allowance and i cut it out

After cutting the back side ,i divided it into two equal parts so it will be easy to get my zip done

After getting my back and front side I held my dart, this is to enable to cloth to be more fitting
After the dart in both parts,i attached my zip

After attaching the zip, i joined the two parts together

That was almost all i had to do with the body so i got to the hand of the dress
Here,i measured my shoulder length from the part i wanted an then cut 4 different sizes of shoulder clothes

When i got to this point,i attached the shoulder clothes to the main dress snd this is what i got

Here, my dress was almost ready
After that, i drafted my puff hand and sewed it to the dress

I then used elastic for this lower part of the hand

After the whole process,i made my slit and my beautiful dress was ready to be worn

I didn't hesitate to use it for church service the next day cuz i felt so pretty in it💞
