Busy Inventing New Things To Do - Online Shop Done

(Edited)

Hmph. I started writing this post about a month ago and then forgot all about it. But as things have not changed that much for me, I think publishing this post as it is, the way I left it, is propably okay.

Currently I'm on my way to Kotka (city in Finland called eagle) because this year there are no Kotkan meripäivät, (Kotka seadays) there because of the max 500 people restriction because of covid-19, so what better time to go and visit a city that I've never been at before. Normal priced hotels and hopefully no crowd.

But as I sayd in the beginning of this post, here's what I wrote about a month ago.

An art installation in art institute Haihatus at Joutsa, Finland.

A month a go.

As I suspected, when it was again possible here in Finland to go to work or go for a coffee or eat at a restaurant, I was here shouting that I'm not finished yet. I still have lots and lots of stuff to do at home, alone, and I'm not ready to go outside or meet people.

It's been couple of weeks since the restaurants were allowed to open and gradually also other places like museums or swimming pools and such recreational places. Grocery shops have been open like before and other bigger shops and shopping malls with shorter opening hours.

And I had to start working and meet people. Uh. People.

Would you believe it but Insaneworks isn't my main source of income. It's just a hobby. A silly hobby that I would like to do all the time but as I'm lazy and in a weird way like what I do for living, there are too many times something else that needs to be done before I can dig in properly with this hobby that I do not think I'm even that good in.

But it's fun. I don't listen what people would want or what they would pay for and I don't grant wishes. I just do what I think is funny or important for me to do at that very moment and do not care what people think about it. It's my opinion, it's my art and it's my loss. if there's anything to loose.

And now I finally have downloaded enough designs to the online shop to call it a proper shop. It's the same old shit artsy stuff that you've seen here before of course. And something extra. Like this giraffe.

And now you've seen that too.

Insane over and out.

Nice! I hope your customers aren't too depressed or broke to ramp up your business. This corona guy has really messed up with the entire world. There goes my plan of visiting a few more Eastern European countries down the drain... I'll be lucky if I can even go to Spain again. Jeez. 😶

Yeah, we just need to hold on little longer and wait for better times. Perhaps just traveling where you live. I bet there still are places you haven't been in. And I'm sure next year will be better. :D

Sure but I cannot stand the mask thing... and since it seems like it's going to be mandatory to use a mask on the streets, I don't think I'm going to visit anywhere anytime soon. 😑

I would hate the mask too if it was mandatory here. And I would propably just stay home as much as possible. That would be awful too. Staying at home. All the time.

Hare on a swing! 😁 I do like that one, it brings a smile to my face.

Things here look to be going backwards again re the quarantine. Places are still allowed to continue opening up, but they've ramped up cracking down on them, just when we were eyeing up a restriction free State for August, all due to increases in cases in other states. It wouldn't surprise me if they move the date again now. Adelaide just hosted the big footy game over the weekend, too, so I wonder if we'll get some cases from that.

What have the virus levels been like in Finland?

Thanks! Of all the ink drawings that I've done (there aren't that many) Rachel rabbit on the swing is my favourite. :)

It's been okay here I guess. We haven't had that many cases. Just over 300 deaths I think. Now that the restrictions are loosening, there will surely be more infections, but as most Finns do love social distancing, nothing spreads here that well I guess. Let's hope it stays that way.

I hope the situation there doesn't get too severe.

I just wish people all over the world would realize that being really, really, really extra careful for few months more, or perhaps till the end of the year, is always better than more deaths. People may be a bit fed up with all this, but they still shouldn't be too short sighted.

Lol! The Fins were probably doing our level of social distancing before the quarantine!

I think so too. In the beginning of all this we were said that 2 meters distance at least to other people and I've heard many say that that's awfull, wy do we need to be closer to each other than usual? :D That's a joke of course but nevertheless true.

I've always felt that arms length is the minimum distance people should keep when being around me. Strangers at least. If anyone comes closer it's always really suspicious or if I fail to notice them being so close although the hair in my neck usually warns me from people being too close, they risk getting injured when I explain things with my hands. And I have long arms.

Lol! That was me when they started funneling us into lines at the supermarket. I didn't need to be smelling people that close up! English people tend to give each other more space than Aussies.

It's the climate. It has to be the reason. For some reason, the warmer country, the closer people want to be to each others and further away in colder countries. One would think it would be the opposite, but no.

Now you've got me thinking! You're so right, it should be the opposite. So many reasons to avoid one another when it's hot and that includes body odour! 😅

Perhaps it's the people and their behavior that determines which countries have a warm climate and which don't? I think so. That means we have all been taught wrong at school! It's the people. If you just could distance yourself a little bit more, the temperature would drop and it would be a little bit cooler there. Or is it just as hard to do as it is for Finns to get a bit closer to each others, just to stay warm and, as we now know with this new proven fact, to get the temperature a bit higher? I think it's an impossible task to keep Finns close to strangers. It's like magnets when two of the same poles face each other. The bigger and stronger the magnets, the harder it is to force them to be together because it's in their nature to push away.
