Good evening, dear hivers. In this opportunity, I want to share with you a story of love and friendship that is still in my mind...

Todo comenzó hace aproximadamente dos años, cuando decidi emprender un gran viaje al sur de chile. Allí mochileando, pude vivir aventuras maravillosas, una de ellas fue realizar un voluntariado en San Juan (Región del Magallanes), donde durante el invierno de 2020, tuve la dicha de conocer a una jauría que me robó el corazón.

Se trataba de tres perros muy especiales: El Negro, Milo y Mapu. En este post les hablaré del más alfa y tierno de la manada: el negro.

It all started about two years ago, when I decided to undertake a great trip to the south of Chile. There, backpacking, I was able to live wonderful adventures, one of them was volunteering in San Juan (Magallanes Region), where during the winter of 2020, I had the joy of meeting a pack that stole my heart.

They were three very special dogs: El Negro, Milo and Mapu. In this post I will talk about the most alpha and tender of the pack: the black one.

Es el perro más seguro que he conocido, no le teme a ningún otro animal del campo, y es capaz de nadar, saltar y correr lo que sea necesario, sin importar las terribles temperaturas.

He is the most confident dog I have ever met, he is not afraid of any other animal in the field, and is able to swim, jump and run as far as necessary, regardless of the terrible temperatures.

Es muy guardián y obediente, siempre que alguien se acercaba al recinto ladraba advirtiendo sin dudar. De hecho, la primera vez que fui al lugar me dio mucho miedo.

He is very guarded and obedient, whenever someone approached the enclosure he barked warning without hesitation. In fact, the first time I went to the place he scared me a lot.

Pero solo fue cuestion de horas para conocerlo realmente y saber lo dulce, tierno y juquetón que era. El negro amaba buscar el palo: solía ladrar con mucha energía como exigiendo que se lo tiraras, y apesar de que los tres perros iban tras el bendito palo, el negro siempre era el ganador, gracias a su increíble fuerza y velocidad.

But it was only a matter of hours to really get to know him and to know how sweet, tender and playful he was. Black loved to chase the stick: he used to bark with a lot of energy as if demanding that you throw it to him, and even though all three dogs were after the blessed stick, black was always the winner, thanks to his incredible strength and speed.

También le encantaba revolcarse en la nieve y el lodo. Con sus movimientos y gestos se evidenciaba el placer que le causaba la textura de las superficies estimulando su piel.

He also loved to roll in the snow and mud. His movements and gestures showed the pleasure he took in the texture of the surfaces stimulating her skin.

El negro fue el primer perro con el que conecté en mi vida, de manera tan profunda. Gracias a él aprendi lo que es amar a un animal. Antes de conocerlo no tenía una conciencia real de lo que era tener un compañero de cuatro patas; y lograrlo fue hermoso.

El negro was the first dog I ever connected with in my life, in such a deep way. Thanks to him I learned what it is to love an animal. Before I met him I had no real awareness of what it was like to have a four-legged companion; and to achieve that was beautiful.

Jugamos mucho, paseamos más de 40 kilometros en bicicleta... Me enseño mucho de valentía y fuerza. Durante los dos meses que estuve en ese recinto, llenó mis dias y noches de diversión y ternura...

We played a lot, cycled more than 40 kilometers.... He taught me a lot about courage and strength. During the two months that I was in that enclosure, he filled my days and nights with fun and tenderness...

El Negro era el perro más viejo del lugar y lo evidenciaban sus dientes, piel y cicatrices... Tenía una apariencia bastante ruda, sobretodo cuando ahuyentaba al ganado y a los otros perros con los que se cruzaba en el sector.

El Negro was the oldest dog in the area, as evidenced by his teeth, skin and scars.... He had a rather rough appearance, especially when he chased away the cattle and other dogs he came across in the area.

Sin embargo, también era el más tierno de todos. Tenía una mirada tan dulce y profunda, imposible de olvidar... A través de su mirada conocí la belleza de una verdadera amistad.

However, he was also the most tender of all. He had such a sweet and deep gaze, impossible to forget.... Through his gaze I knew the beauty of true friendship.
