Hello to all art lovers!!! And of those who love fantasy pencil drawings. ^_^

Hello again, I had set myself the goal of publishing a post once a week, but due to a series of unfortunate events, they caused me to end up publishing this 21 days later, for the sake of my self-esteem I hope this does not happen again , the good thing about those days is that I learned a new skill related to clay, which I will teach you in my next post.

I have as a goal to cover the walls of the room with drawings, last time I showed the first 8 drawings that I stick to the wall, I continue with the theme of the "lord of the rings" according to the drawing style of "Stjepan Sejic"

Underestimating starting a drawing

The original idea of making these drawings is that it serves as an exercise to train my eye with details, and the most important thing is to increase my speed when drawing, that is why in the previous drawings I do not register with photographs of how I did them , because I concentrated so much, that I was able to do between 2 to 3 drawings per day, but this time it was different…

As this drawing is of 2 characters interacting, or rather it is about a combat scene (rather an execution, it is obvious that that orc will not be able to react in XP time) I used a larger format of 14 x 22 cm, and naively I thought that it would only take me one day to finish it, due to my performance with the previous drawings, but drawing a large face is not the same as drawing two full-body characters, with armor, weapons and with dynamic poses with movement.

This drawing that I assumed would take a day to finish, in the end it took more than a week to finish it was quite a challenge, of which I am proud of the result, when I noticed how long it took the first day, I decided to record the step by step of this draw.

One of the things that delayed me with this work was the constant corrections I made to it, one of them was that in the sketch, without realizing it, I brought the characters together a lot, so I had to delete the Orc and redraw it to have more separation between them. , so that the trajectory of the ax had coherence.

This is the first time that I work with lighting in this way with pencil, I loved how I achieved the strong lights on the Orc's helmet and ear.

This arm I had to do like 4 times to get the right body proportion.

Without a doubt, the sword and the right leg of the Orc was what gave me the most work to do, I constantly erased them and drew them so that they would not have disproportions, with the body of the character.

Thanks to the experience and complications I had with the right arm, the left one became easier for me to perform.

Thanks to the composition, direction of light and posture of the character the body of the orc is in its own shadow, which is equal to just darkening and adding a slight gradient.

With the left leg ready, the drawing is finished.

I am still fascinated with the creativity of “Stjepan Sejic” and his mastery of drawing sketches in photoshop, I highly recommend that you see his drawings that he publishes on his social networks.
