A Wonderful Journey to Japan (Part 84)

We end the day peacefully along Kondoi Beach, a stretch of white sand bordered by shallow turquoise water, perfect for swimming or just floating effortlessly.

The beach faces the East China Sea, where the sunsets are said to be stunning… though I only found that out afterward. Too bad!

This is a protected area — no big resorts, no roaring engines, just the sound of the wind and the waves.

Everything seems to slow down here, as if time itself decided to take a break.

Nous terminons la journée paisiblement le long de Kondoi Beach, un ruban de sable blanc bordé d’une eau turquoise peu profonde, idéale pour se baigner ou simplement flotter sans le moindre effort.

La plage fait face à la mer de Chine orientale, où les couchers de soleil sont, paraît-il, magnifiques… mais ça, je ne l’ai découvert qu’après coup. Dommage !

Ici, la zone est protégée : pas de grands hôtels ni de moteurs vrombissants, juste le son du vent et des vagues.

Tout semble aller au ralenti, comme si le temps lui-même prenait une pause.

Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park – Shisa are guardian creatures that are half lion, half dog.
Note: The Shisa is the Okinawan version of the Shishi. They can be found on rooftops or in front of houses in Okinawa. Their style is often more naïve or expressive, and they serve a domestic protective role rather than a religious one.

A noter : Le Shisa est la version okinawaïenne du shishi. On les retrouve sur les toits ou devant les maisons à Okinawa. Leur style est souvent plus naïf ou expressif, et ils jouent un rôle de protection domestique, plutôt que religieux.
