Wednesday Walk on Pasir Hitam Beach

I and my friend @teukuboyhaqie were trying to hunt for some nice pictures two weeks ago from today on Pasir Hitam Beach, Pidie Regency, Aceh. So we woke up early that morning and went to the location using a car, which only took 5 minutes from our lodge. The sea was calm and the sky was quite cloudy at the time. I did love the moment because it was so quiet at that time.

Nice View Along The Beach

As it was a weekday, there were no visitors on the beach, as we expected. All the cafe around the beach is closed, and my friend said that they would be open in the afternoon around 4.00 pm. At that time visitors will start visiting this place to spend their time alone or with a group.

A Closed Cafe, Cypress Trees, and Other Greeneries

We did see some people, but they were not visitors. They are local people who work as fishermen and by that time they were trying to pull up the beach seine.

Fishermen Pulling Up Their Beach Seine

The contour of the beach is so flat and dominated by black sand (Pasir Putih is the Indonesian language for black sand). This condition reminds me of my lecturer who once said "If you found black sand on a beach, that means it was located near a river (If you click the link on Pasir Hitam Beach above, you will see that this beach is exactly near the river, even surrounded on both sides).

Along the beach, we also found a pile of stones that serves as the water breaker. The stone formation help to reduce the rate of abrasion in the location.

Stones Formation Along The Beach

If you take a closer look at the picture above, you will find strokes of lines in the sand. These strokes were created from the water movement during the tidal process. I'm quite shocked knowing this condition because the distance between the low and high tidal was quite far.

Besides the fishermen who are pulling up their beach seine, we also spot some fishermen's boats on the waters. I only bring my smartphone that time, and only got one appropriate picture of it.

Fishermen Boat on The Waters

By the end of our trip, I took a picture of my friend @teukuboyhaqie while he take a rest and sit on a rock.

That's all of my stories for the Wednesday walk this week. I hope you like it and enjoy your time. See you in the next post!
