Wednesday Walk — Sunset Hunting in Syiah Kuala Beach

Before I made this post, I looked back at my posts in this community and it seemed like almost all the stories I posted were about me and my friends enjoying the sunset. This time, I will do the same thing but with a slightly different story. Here is my #WednesdayWalk story.

Previously, I always told stories of going out with my old friends, this time the story is about me and my officemate @teukuboyhaqie who had just returned to the office after a long time in the field.

The weather this afternoon was quite sunny with a few clouds, after working hours ended @teukuboyhaqie invited me to hunt for sunset at the beach located not too far from our office namely Syiah Kuala Beach. Hearing the invitation, I immediately agreed because my photo stock was also running low and I also needed a little new atmosphere after spending all day in the office.

After preparing the camera, we set off on our motorbikes to a beach only 7 minutes away. Not too many people were seen spending time at this beach, and we immediately looked for a suitable spot to take pictures of the sunset.

@teukuboyhaqie brought 2 cameras, the Nikon P1000 and Nikon Z50. He used the Nikon P1000 camera to take close-up pictures of the setting sun, while I used the Nikon Z50 camera to take landscape pictures. I personally usually only use my smartphone camera, and rarely use compact or other types of cameras. Even if I do use one, I always set it to automatic. Knowing this, @teukuboyhaqie taught me the basics of setting ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture. His explanation was very good, but I still have a lot to learn to get the right combination in various environmental conditions with different lighting.

After the sun had set, and my friend had finished taking pictures, I asked him to lend me the camera to get a feel for using the Nikon P1000 camera whose body looks quite large with a very long lens. But once I held it in my hand, I found it to be quite lightweight, even when compared to the Nikon Z50 that I used before.

After trying out the camera, we ended the photo hunt and decided to head back to the office. The environment around us was also very dark, as there was no lighting at all provided in this place.

That's all my story on this #WednesdayWalk. Thank you for visiting, and I hope you like both the story and the photos I presented. See you again in the next story!

All these pictures were taken using Nikon Z50

and processed through Adobe Lightroom
