¡Mucho café, mucha literatura y mucho Ashe! (es/en)

Aquello no tuvo nombre anoche. Empezamos el espacio con una planta eléctrica que nos hizo ajustarlo todo a última hora: sin luces para la atmósfera, a ratos con micrófono, a ratos a capella. Pero ya estábamos ahí. De un lado el público hermoso que nos acompañaba y del otro el talento de tres artistas inmensos: Luis Hidalgo Ramos, Ana Cristina Pozo y al piano, el maestro William Zambrano.

Fue una noche sincera. Una noche en la que Luis Hidalgo Ramos, nos habló de su carrera, de su visión del arte y del artista en la sociedad y en la que cantaba y declamaba sus creaciones sin importar las condiciones técnicas del espacio. Como solo puede hacerlo un artista verdadero.

Cuando la planta dejó de funcionar porque se acabó la poca gasolina, se encendieron las velas y el público brindó la luz de sus linternas. Como un acto de gratitud.
Fue hermoso. De pronto todo el espacio parecía un altar a las presencias, a la energía y al Ashe que define a ese rincón de la Calle Martí.

Así cerró la presentación de este espacio de cuatro jornadas durante este fin de semana.

Gracias a Libro Pinar del Río por esta iniciativa. Y a mis amigos Yadira Rodriguez y Alberto Moreno, anfitriones de Café Ashe, quienes les esperan en los próximos fines de semana con una interesante propuesta cultural.

Last night was something quite extraordinary. We began the performance with a power cut that forced us to make last-minute adjustments: no lighting to set the mood, at times using a microphone, at times a cappella. But we were already there. On one side, the wonderful audience who were with us; on the other, the talent of three immense artists: Luis Hidalgo Ramos, Ana Cristina Pozo and, at the piano, Maestro William Zambrano.

It was a heartfelt evening. An evening in which Luis Hidalgo Ramos spoke to us about his career, his vision of art and the role of the artist in society, and in which he sang and recited his works regardless of the venue’s technical limitations. As only a true artist can do.

When the generator stopped working because the little petrol we had ran out, candles were lit and the audience shone the light from their torches. As an act of gratitude.
It was beautiful. Suddenly, the whole space seemed like an altar to the presences, the energy and the ‘Ashe’ that defines that corner of Calle Martí.

And so came to a close the four-day event held over this weekend.
