I"M GOING HOME !! WHAT SHOULD I BUY ?

Well.. I can't be going home empty handed although the best gift my family can have is ME. It's always customary to bring a gift for everyone, no matter how small or affordable it can be. It's always the thought that counts. Guess, it is in our Chinese culture to do this. As such, I ended up shopping at SAIGON SQUARE, a local wholesale market in District 1. The is probably the only surviving wholesale market in town since the famous, Binh Thanh Market has been closed down for months - ever since the start of the pandemic.

With 3 boys at home ( 1 BIG & 2 SMALL ), actually they're all big already 😆, the best gift I can think of is T-Shirts. And Saigon Square sells these at the best prices with pretty good quality as well. This is for my hubby, I hope he likes it.

This is for my eldest son who's one head taller than me, and I'm already 5ft 6inches tall. I probably look like a midget compared to him now. He can look down on me ... ha ha

And these are for my youngest son who's as tall as me now. Each of these shirts cost approximately VND100,00 to VND130,000 each which is a good deal since there is no way I could afford originals for them. Believe me when I say that they are just as good as the originals. No one would've guessed that I bought these from a wholesale market. My hubby keeps on telling the boys that Mommy bought you UnderArmour & Nike T-shirts, woh.. !!

Wait till they see this post 😆

It was a good shopping outing for me. Now, my luggage is all packed with gifts for the BOYS. Time to sleep so that I'm ready for my flight tomorrow night.

This is the one tag and weekly challenge that I try to make a point to join; not to mention that I'm also a fanatic when it comes to sight seeing or shopping in any form of market - indoors, outdoors, food, textile, accessories and etc.

It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe!
There's so many different cultures and beauty in this world and the more we travel and open up our eyes, the more we gain.

It's easy to participate :

  1. Go to the market! Any market will do! Food, Clothing, Plant or Animal, if you wish. You can go to the zoo or an art auction. Anywhere or anything that you pay money for a service.
  2. Take pictures! Be creative (or not)
  3. Tell us a little bit about the market, what brought you here?
  4. Post the picture(s)
  5. Don’t forget to hashtag it! #MarketFriday by @dswigle
  6. Minimum 250 words

I am so excited for you!!!! Are you going home to visit or for good? Either way, you are going to get to see your babies!!!! All of them!

The shirts look great and I calculated it out to be $4.34 each, a huge steal! Great job, @ireenchew! I cannot believe your oldest son is taller than you are! Already? Time flies! I didn't know your Market is still closed. I guessed that they were opening up more and more. Here, little by little. If you are visiting, how long will you be there?

I grew up the same way! It is customary not to show up empty-handed when going to visit, or when you come back from a trip. Some of the younger generations are laxer about this as their lifestyle is less about customs and more about visiting without constraints. I accept each way, but, have my own. It is all good. Thank you so much for sharing your upcoming journey!!! God Bless and give them all an extra hug!

#MarketFriday has survived the pandemic and has been presented in so many unusual ways, along with more common ones. This, of course, adds more charm to the mixing bowl. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. We embrace each other as humans.

I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!

Thanks so much @dswigle
Yes, I'm finally going back after so long but only a short couple of weeks.
Can't be away from work for too long. Even going hone, it's considered Work During Leave..
However it may be, I'll take it so long as I get to see my boys back home.

Yeah.. many wholesale markets are still closed as there ain't enough tourist to visit these shops and build the economy. The domestic market isn't strong enough to support so many decided to close.
