Amigurumi Sullivan (Monster Inc)
Saludos querida comunidad, hace unas semanas mi hijo y yo vimos Monster INC, la película animada de Disney y Pixar, también vimos la secuela que es en realidad una precuela, pues cuenta las historia de los personajes principales en su juventud, para los que no conocen de qué trata la primera película, esta se desarrolla en un mundo alterno donde los monstruos existen y obtienen la energía necesaria para el funcionamiento de su mundo gracias a los gritos de los niños del mundo humano, estos gritos infantiles se producen debido a los sustos que les dan los monstruos a los niños cuando salen del armario de la habitación, la moraleja de la película es que gracias a Sullivan y Mike, se descubre que la risa de los niños proporciona más energía a su mundo que los gritos de sustos, se dan cuenta de eso al tratar de salvar a aúna niña que a sido raptada del mundo humano por parte de un monstruo. Mi hijo que do encantado con esta historia y sus personajes , así que me pidió que hiciera amigurumis de los personajes, así que empecé por Sullivan, el monstruo azul.
Greetings dear community, a few weeks ago my son and I watched Monster INC, the Disney and Pixar animated movie, we also saw the sequel which is actually a prequel, as it tells the story of the main characters in their youth, for those who don't They know what the first film is about, it takes place in an alternate world where monsters exist and obtain the necessary energy for the functioning of their world thanks to the screams of children from the human world, these childish screams occur due to scares that the monsters give to the children when they come out of the bedroom closet, the moral of the film is that thanks to Sullivan and Mike, it is discovered that the laughter of children provides more energy to their world than the screams of fright, it is They realize this when trying to save a girl who has been kidnapped from the human world by a monster. My son loved this story and his characters, so he asked me to make amigurumi of the characters, so I started with Sullivan, the blue monster.
Proceso / Process
Para este amigurumi usé hilo acrílico para crochet y ganchillo # 4 (1,25mm), comencé por los tres dedos, uní los dedos y continué, luego hice cuatro hileras solo con al mitad de las puntadas y luego retomé todas las puntadas en círculo, hice disminuciones y logré la altura del tobillo, continué haciendo aumento para las piernas. Hice dos piernas iguales.
For this amigurumi I used acrylic yarn for crochet and crochet hook # 4 (1.25mm), I started with the three fingers, joined the fingers and continued, then I made four rows with only half of the stitches and then I resumed all the stitches in a circle, I decreased and reached ankle height, continued to raise for the legs. I made two identical legs.
Para el cuerpo uní las piernas por dos cadenas que sustituiría por puntos bajos en la segunda hilera, hice aumentos en el centro delantero para de este modo lograr que Sullivan luciera panzoncito, luego continué con el cuerpo haciendo disminuciones de la panza para de este modo lograr disminuir los lados y crear la forma de pera del cuerpo.
For the body, I joined the legs with two chains that I would replace with single crochets in the second row, I made increases in the center front to achieve that Sullivan looked like a paunch, then I continued with the body making decreases in the paunch in order to achieve decrease the sides and create the pear shape of the body.
Para la cabeza no comencé con círculo sino con cadenas, de este modo crearía un óvalo el cual me permitiría obtener la forma de la mandíbula de Sullivan la cual es bastante pronunciada, hice disminuciones para la parte de arriba de la cabeza y rellené ante de cerrar. Al coser la cabeza con el ángulo de inclinación obtenido con el cuerpo en forma de pera logré la forma deseada.
For the head I did not start with a circle but with chains, in this way I would create an oval which would allow me to obtain the shape of Sullivan's jaw which is quite pronounced, I made decreases for the top of the head and filled in before closing . By sewing the head with the angle of inclination obtained with the pear-shaped body, I achieved the desired shape.
Sullivan es bastante fuerte y tiene brazos muy largos, por lo que procuré hacer que los brazos tuvieran aumentos en la zona del antebrazo y bíceps, además que hacer los hombros redondeados daría volumen a la espalda. Los cosí de manera que se pueden mover, pasando la hebra de costura por mismo agujero de un brazo a otro atravesando el cuerpo.
Sullivan is quite strong and has very long arms, so I tried to make the arms have raises in the forearm and biceps area, plus rounding the shoulders would give volume to the back. I sewed them so that they can be moved, passing the sewing thread through the same hole from one arm to the other through the body.
Me gustó mucho hacer los detalles del rostro, porque pude hacer la frente pronunciada gracias a hacer 4 puntos bajos por 8 hileras, cosiendo arriba de los ojos da un efecto increíble. Los cuernos los hice con gris claro, haciendo una curva a la mitad de estos.
I really liked doing the details of the face, because I was able to make the forehead pronounced thanks to making 4 single crochets for 8 rows, sewing above the eyes gives an incredible effect. I made the horns with light grey, making a curve in the middle of these.
Para la cola comencé con 4 puntos bajos en un anillo, haciendo dos aumentos cada dos hileras hasta obtener el ancho deseado, haciendo que se viera curva haciendo aumentos en al mitad de las puntadas y disminuciones en la otra mitad de la misma hilera. Con hilo gris oscuro hice los picos de la cola. Luego con hilo morada hice círculos de dientes tamaños y los casi al cuerpo como manchas.
For the tail I started with 4 single crochets in a ring, making two increases every two rows until I get the desired width, making it look curved by increasing in the middle of the stitches and decreasing in the other half of the same row. With dark gray thread I made the peaks of the tail. Then with purple thread I made circles of sized teeth and the almost to the body as stains.
Resultado / Result
Esta figura aunque de Sullivan me encantó porque pude darle mi toque personal, haciendo que se viera tierno y no asustador 😄 , este tipo de películas enseña a los niños a no temer a los monstruos del armario y eso me parece importante, para mi los monstruos de esta película tienen una imagen que si bien puede parecer amenazadora tienen un lado tierno y es lo que quise resaltar en este amigurumi.
Although I loved this figure by Sullivan because I was able to give it my personal touch, making it look cute and not scary 😄, this type of movie teaches children not to fear closet monsters and that seems important to me, monsters from this movie they have an image that, although it may seem threatening, has a tender side and that is what I wanted to highlight in this amigurumi.
