Crochet con amor por una buena causa

Saludos querida comunidad, feliz #needleworkmonday, hoy les vengo a compartir una experiencia diferente, es agridulce por describirlo de alguna manera, pues hace ya una semana que compartía con ustedes un amigurumi de Tsunami nuestro Héroe canino, quien en su misión de perro rescatista se ha convertido en un orgullo nacional y también un símbolo de esperanza en medio de toda esta catástrofe que ha ocurrido en mi país por el doblete sísmico, en aquella oportunidad les comentaba que iba a publicar en mis redes sociales el amigurumi de Tsunami con la intención de recoger dinero para donativos, lo hice aun temerosa de que no llegara a mucha gente, pero resultó que si pasó, hubo personas que me encargaron.

Greetings dear community, happy #needleworkmonday! Today I’m sharing a different experience with you; it’s bittersweet, to say the least. Just a week ago, I shared with you an amigurumi of Tsunami, our canine hero, who, in his mission as a rescue dog, has become a national pride and a symbol of hope amidst the catastrophe that has struck my country with the double earthquake. At that time, I mentioned that I was going to post the Tsunami amigurumi on my social media with the intention of raising money for donations. I did so, still fearful that it wouldn’t reach many people, but it turned out that it did; some people even placed orders.

No esperaba tan buena recepción a mi idea, así que estuve toda esta semana trabajando para poder completar los amigurumis de Tsunami, en total hice 6, nunca antes había hecho tantos amigurumis en tan poco tiempo pero puse todo mi amor dedicación y trabajo en cada uno de ellos, no obtuve ninguna ganancia mas que la satisfacción de haber hecho lo que podía en estas circunstancias tan duras para tantas familias venezolanas, pues como dice la canción “mis manos son lo único que tengo, son mi amor y mi sustento”.

I didn’t expect such a good reception to my idea, so I spent all week working to complete the Tsunami amigurumi. In total, I made 6. I’d never made so many amigurumi in such a short time before, but I put all my love, dedication, and work into each one. I didn’t get any profit other than the satisfaction of having done what I could in these difficult circumstances for so many Venezuelan families, because as the song says, “My hands are the only thing I have, they are my love and my sustenance.”

Debo decir que los primeros días después del terremoto me vi muy afectada mentalmente, solo veía noticias en redes sociales y no podía conciliar el sueño, en unos momentos lloraba por la impotencia, en otros no podía contener la rabia al ver que la gente en el sitio mas afectado no estaba recibiendo ayuda a tiempo para rescatar a sus familiares, en medio de ese caos recordé que tejer a sido la actividad que me ha permitido atravesar los momentos mas duros en mi vida, asi que desde que hice el primer amigurumi Tsunami he sentido como la calma regresa a mi incluso sin dejar de lado la pena, por eso cada persona que se llevó uno de esos amigurumis se lleva también parte de mi corazón, uno se fue para Barquisimeto, dos para Cabudare, uno para San Cristobal y dos se quedaron aquí en Carora.

I must say that in the first few days after the earthquake, I was very mentally affected. I only watched news on social media and couldn’t sleep. At times, I cried from helplessness; at others, I couldn’t contain my anger seeing that people in the most affected area weren’t receiving timely help to rescue their relatives. In the midst of that chaos, I remembered that knitting has been the activity that has allowed me to get through the hardest moments of my life. So, since I made the first Tsunami amigurumi, I’ve felt calm return to me, even without leaving the sadness behind. That’s why each person who took one of those amigurumis also takes a piece of my heart. One went to Barquisimeto, two to Cabudare, one to San Cristobal, and two stayed here in Carora.

Gracias a esos 6 amigurumis pude comprar los donativos en compañía de mi mamá y fuimos al centro de acopio de Cáritas de la parroquia San Juan Bautista de mi ciudad para hacer la entrega, se que no es mucho pero lo hicimos con todo el corazón 💜

Thanks to those 6 amigurumi, I was able to buy the donations with my mom, and we went to the Caritas collection center at the San Juan Bautista parish in my city to make the delivery. I know it’s not much, but we did it with all our hearts 💜
