Saludos querida comunidad, siempre me encanta compartir con ustedes cada nuevo reto que se me presenta en el mundo de los trabajos de aguja, esta no es la excepción pues me fue encomendada una misión muy fascinante, se trata de una planta suculenta a crochet cuyo nombre específico es Echeverria Sky Blue, esta se caracteriza porque sus hojas verdes van tornándose de un tono rojizo, es primera vez que hago un proyecto de este estilo y busqué imágenes de referencias pero ninguna me gustó, ninguna que vi conservaba realmente un parecido a la planta, así que me decidí hacerla a mi gusto inspirándome en una foto de la planta real, el resultado me gustó mucho y a la cliente también 😊

Greetings, dear community! I always love sharing with you every new challenge I encounter in the world of needlework, and this is no exception. I was entrusted with a very fascinating mission: crocheting a succulent plant, specifically an Echeveria Sky Blue. This plant is characterized by its green leaves that gradually turn a reddish hue. It's my first time undertaking a project like this, and I looked for reference images, but none of them truly resembled the plant. So, I decided to create it my own way, inspired by a photo of the real plant. I was very pleased with the result, and so was the client! 😊

Proceso / Process

Desde el principio observé que las hojas del centro eran completamente verdes y a media que se alejaban del centro iban adquiriendo el otro color a partir de la punta, trabajé con una hebra de hilo acrílico y ganchillo de 1.25mm, como las suculentas tienen unas hojas que parecen gorditas decidí hacer dos caras de la hoja y entonces unir las dos con una hilera de puntos, haciendo un punto picot en el centro para que se pareciera a las hojas reales que tenían esa forma puntiaguda en la punta. Del centro hacia afuera las hojas iban aumentando de tamaño por lo cual hice 6 grupos de hojas que en total serían 27.

From the beginning, I noticed that the center leaves were completely green, and as they moved away from the center, they gradually acquired the other color starting at the tip. I worked with a strand of acrylic yarn and a 1.25mm crochet hook. Since succulents have leaves that look rather plump, I decided to make two sides of the leaf and then join them with a row of stitches, adding a picot stitch in the center to resemble real leaves with their pointed tips. The leaves increased in size from the center outwards, so I made six groups of leaves, for a total of 27.

Uní las hojas de ordenándolas de menor a mayor altura y las uní por una hila de puntos bajos por la parte de abajo de las hojas, uní en forma de espiral por medio de una costura. Aparte con doble hebra de hilo marrón y ganchillo de 3mm hice 8 puntos bajos en un anillo, hice 8 aumentos por 8 hileras hasta obtener 72 puntadas, con silicón pegué las hojas arriba del círculo marrón.

I joined the leaves, arranging them from shortest to tallest, and secured them with a row of single crochet stitches along the underside of the leaves, joining them in a spiral with a seam. Separately, using two strands of brown yarn and a 3mm crochet hook, I made 8 single crochet stitches in a ring, increasing 8 stitches for 8 rows until I had 72 stitches. I then glued the leaves on top of the brown ring with silicone.

Para la maceta también trabajé con doble hecho y ganchillo de 3mm, hice un circulo igual a al anterior, luego hice una hilera de puntos bajos tomándolos por detrás, luego 11 hileras de puntos bajos normales, para finalizar una hilera de puntos bajos tomando solo la hebra del frente, rellené y cosí para finalizar la planta.

For the pot I also worked with double crochet and a 3mm crochet hook, I made a circle the same as before, then I made a row of single crochet stitches taking them from behind, then 11 rows of normal single crochet stitches, to finish a row of single crochet stitches taking only the front loop, I stuffed and sewed to finish the plant.
