Saludos querida comunidad, feliz #needleworkmonday, hace unos semanas atrás me escribió una amiga preguntando si podía hacer un vestido a crochet para una ahijada de sus padres, yo por supuesto el dije que sí, me enviaron una imagen de referencia con el color de hilo que querían y también un modelo que tenía botones en los tirantes, fueron muy específicos en ese detalle porque la idea es que se le pueda ajustar el largo de los tirantes a través de los agujeros del tejido, también em dijeron que era una niña de 2 años pero igualmente me enviaron las medidas en centímetros de una prenda de la niña, razón por la cual me sentí mucha mas tranquila en cuanto al tamaño que deseaban.

Greetings dear community, happy #needleworkmonday! A few weeks ago, a friend wrote to me asking if I could crochet a dress for her parents' goddaughter. Of course, I said yes. They sent me a reference image with the yarn color they wanted and also a model that had buttons on the straps. They were very specific about that detail because the idea is that the length of the straps can be adjusted through the holes in the crochet. They also told me that it was a 2-year-old girl, but they also sent me the measurements in centimeters of one of the girl's garments, which made me feel much more at ease regarding the size they wanted.

Proceso / Process

Lo que más me emocionó del proyecto es que es la primera vez que hago un vestido para niña, porque yo solo he hecho abrigos o conjuntos de pantalón y abrigo pero en la técnica de dos agujas, no en crochet pero realmente tengo la confianza para hacerlos porque generalmente hago ropa para amigurumis y no había tenido la oportunidad de recibir un encargo de ese tipo, me alegré mucho que pudiera encontrar el color exacto de hilo que querían, es como una especie de color coral parecido a rosado de la guayaba.

Trabajé con doble hebra de hilo acrílico y ganchillo de 3mm, comencé con el tirante delantero con 37 cadenas de base mientras que para el tirante trasero hice 55 cadenas de base, es decir ambos con múltiplo de 3 mas 1. Hice la primera hilera de puntos ajos, luego en la siguiente dos puntos altos una cadena y dos puntos altos en el mismo punto cada tres puntadas, a la siguiente en los agujeros formados por las cadenas de separación hice lo mismo pero esta vez con puntos altos dobles, hice una hilera solo de puntos latos y una de puntos bajos.

What excited me most about the project is that it's the first time I've made a dress for a girl. I've only ever knitted coats or pant and coat sets, not crocheted ones, but I'm confident enough to make them because I usually make clothes for amigurumi and I hadn't had the opportunity to receive a commission like this before. I was so happy that I was able to find the exact color of yarn they wanted; it's a sort of coral color, similar to guava pink.

I worked with a double strand of acrylic yarn and a 3mm crochet hook. I started with the front strap with 37 base chains, while for the back strap I made 55 base chains, that is, both with a multiple of 3 plus 1. I made the first row of single crochet stitches, then in the next row two double crochets, one chain, and two double crochets in the same stitch every three stitches. In the next row, in the holes formed by the separation chains, I did the same but this time with double crochet stitches. I made one row of single crochet stitches and one row of single crochet stitches.

Levanté los 31 puntos centrales de cada tirante y los uní por 19 cadenas de cada lado obteniendo 100 de base el top del vestido. Con la imagen de referencia que me habían enviado no era de alta resolución no podía detallar el tipo de puntada a crochet que usaron, por eso decidí buscar referencias que me gustaran, acudí a la galería de puntos a crochet de la pagina Tejiendo Perú y encontré dos puntadas que me gustaron, la primera se llama punto varetas cruzadas y es la que utilicé la parte del top del vestido, hice 10 hileras usando ese tipo de puntadas, luego la para la cintura hice una hilera de puntos altos y dos hileras de puntos altos tomados por detrás, terminé con una hilera de puntos bajos en la cual hice 44 aumentos para obtener 144 puntadas de base para la falda del vestido.

I picked up the 31 center stitches of each strap and joined them with 19 chains on each side, giving me 100 stitches for the base of the dress top. The reference image they sent me wasn't high resolution, so I couldn't see the specific crochet stitches used. Therefore, I decided to look for some references I liked. I went to the crochet stitch gallery on the Tejiendo Perú website and found two stitches I liked. The first is called crossed double crochet, and that's what I used for the top of the dress. I made 10 rows using this stitch. Then, for the waistband, I made one row of double crochet and two rows of back loop double crochet. I finished with a row of single crochet, increasing 44 stitches to get 144 stitches for the base of the dress skirt.

Para la falda del vestido usé la puntada llamada Punto Cucú por 18 hileras, para finalizar hice una puntilla a crochet cuyo gráfico encontré en Pinterest y me pareció un toque delicado para la orilla.

For the skirt of the dress I used the stitch called Cuckoo Stitch for 18 rows, to finish I made a crocheted lace whose chart I found on Pinterest and it seemed like a delicate touch for the edge.

Para finalizar hice 3 mariposas a crochet como las que les compartí en mi post anterior, porque la cliente me pidió específicamente que le colocara mariposas en lugar de flores a la cintura del vestido, para estas usé solo una hebra de hilo acrílico y ganchillo de 1.25mm, por último coloqué los botones en los tirantes.

To finish, I made 3 crocheted butterflies like the ones I shared in my previous post, because the client specifically asked me to put butterflies instead of flowers on the waist of the dress. For these, I used only one strand of acrylic yarn and a 1.25mm crochet hook. Finally, I attached the buttons to the straps.
