#12 Pray. Read. Share. #ForTheLord

This is number twelve of the #forthelord posts, forming a simple discipline of praying, reading scripture and sharing what was learned online. There are three steps:

  • Pray - Prayer is our talking to the Lord.
  • Read - We read to hear Him.
  • Share - Use the #forthelord tag on your posts or videos in Social media.

Pray and Seek

Creator God
King of the Universe
Your Name is Great
Thank you for another day
A day which You have made
The sun which you placed in the Heavens
The moon which you placed overhead
You are great in power and majesty
We submit ourselves to Your great Name
In obedience to You
We confess our shortcomings
Our transgressions and our faults
That we are enticed by the flesh
But the spirit is willing
And the flesh has been crucified
Along with the suffering of Your Beloved
Who endured great hardships for our sake
And obedience, even unto the tree
Yet you raised Him up, according to Your good will
As you will also raise us up, according to Your Pleasure
For Your Son is the resurrection and the life
All who hear His voice shall be raised at His coming
May this happen quickly and in our days
That You may receive the glory
That the Creator God is worthy
All Honor and Power and Glory
To Your Holy Name and to the Name
Of Your Beloved Son
Amen.

Read and Listen

Reading through the Proverbs, one stuck out, since it is realated to finances:

The borrower is servant to the lender.

We live in a debt society, where to live our "best life now" we put ourselves into debt and pass it on to our old age, or our children. Even our government has built our "best country now" as our nation becomes deeper and deeper in debt.

There isn't much we can do as a country (besides getting involved in governance), but our personal finances can be attended to.

I believe there is a spiritual element to debt: this is why Yeshua taught His disciples to pray that God "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive those indebted to us". When the Jubilee comes, we are commanded to forgive the debts of others, but God has no obligation to forgive our debts. But if we are faithful to obey His command to forgive debts, He also will forgive our debts to Him.

And great is our debt to Him.

Whenever it comes time to invoice for my business, I see it as collecting on a debt. In order for the business to survive, I have to collect, in order to pay my own debts. From a business point of view, this is needed. But what about on a personal level?

I see charity as debt forgiveness. Since you are giving with no expectation in return, the debt is instantly forgiven. What an amazing world, if debts would be forgiven! In the Reign of God, no debt would last for more than 50 years. Even if a debt was inherited from their father, it would soon be forgiven.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!
