It's hard to believe this happened within a mile or so from our house.

Learning more about the spectacular explosion that went on for over an hour. It was about a mile away from our house and it felt like the city around us was being bombed. It shook the house and rattled the windows. Neighbors all came out of their houses and looked towards the glowing night sky, wondering what in the world was happening.

We found out it was a "vape" distribution warehouse, with butane and nitrous oxide canisters and thousands of vape pens with lithium ion batteries. Nobody knows what caused the blaze, just that it began with a big explosion around 9 PM and continued exploding for over an hour. We could still hear it going around 10 PM.

Thankfully, no one was inside the building and nobody in the surrounding buildings were hurt in the explosion, however one spectator about a quarter mile away was killed by falling debris. He was only 19 years old.

These N2O canisters are all over the place, launching like fireworks in random directions, propelled high in the sky and landing in unknown loctions up to a mile away. I wonder if any of these are lying around in our neighborhood?

The warehouse was full of "Goo Sticks", which are flavored N2O (laughing gas) that is used with heavy cream to make Nitrous Oxide infused whipped cream. Learn something new everyday.

I found these images from "Goo Smoke Shop" the establishment that went boom.

It was big warehouse and the whole thing is nothing but a pile of blackened ash. It was similar to a firework store going up in flames.

The fire is out and it's cool and rainy, which will help cool things down. The intersection about a mile away from us is still closed to traffic.

This explosion made for an interesting evening for my family. Thankfully, we are all well and there is no damage to our house or bodies.

This is something we will not soon forget about!
