Pray. Read. Share. #ForTheLord

This post marks the second #forthelord posts, forming a simple discipline of praying, reading scripture and sharing what was learned online. There are three steps:

  • Pray - Prayer is our talking to the Lord.
  • Read - We read to hear Him.
  • Share - Use the #forthelord tag on your posts or videos in Social media.

Pray and Seek

Our Father, Our King
The sustainer of all things
The maker of Heaven and Earth
The Lord of all the Spirits
Your Name be sanctified among the nations
We exult You because of Your Righteousness
And because You are our God
And we are Your People
If we will not harden our hearts
And if we would not rebel against You
But listen for Your instructions
And do what is right in Your eyes
And seek after Your will with all of our hearts
We will put off our sinful nature
And walk in Your Righteousness
And Love You with all of our hearts
We thank you for your provision
Our daily bread which sustains us
And lead us in sincerity and in truth
That we do not play the hypocrite
That we shine before men, as true disciples
That we are clean on the inside
And that the abundance of our hearts sing praises
and not slander and falsehoods
Create in us a clean heart
That does not seek it's own will and pleasure
But delights in the Law of the Most High
And bears great fruit for the Reign which is coming
And is already here within the hearts of the saints.
All Power and Glory to the Son of God
The King of all kings, the Master of all masters
The righteous despot
The merciful judge
The One Who Saves
Messiah Yeshua our Lord
Amen

Read and Listen

Guarding against hypocrisy. Reading Job 17 and 18, this passage jumped out at me.

"The innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite." Job 17:8

The word "hypocrite" catches my attention. I used to think hypocrite meant someone who says one thing but does another... but a simpler meaning is "play-actor".

"Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is playacting." Luke 12:1

The scribes and pharisees were angry at Yeshua because he wouldn't play-act with them... sort of like "all the world's a stage" and "We're all in this together" and "everyone do your part". The Pharisees dressed up and play the role of the "righteous", everyone else played the role of "sinner". Both are being hypocrites!
Yeshua compares the wicked generation to children playacting and complaining that He (Yeshua) won't go along with their games:

"To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: “‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’" Matthew 11:16

When he entered the home of the child which had died, Yeshua sent the mourners away. When Yeshua healed a man on the Sabbath, he did not repent of doing good. He did what He did, because it is REAL. He is not a hypocrite. He did not PRETEND to be Messiah. He IS Messiah.

The hypocrites puff themselves up like leaven in bread. Yet Yeshua is the innocent man, unleavened with sincerity and truth (1 Cor 5:8). He stirred himself up against the hypocrite and would not play their games! This is why Jerusalem rejected Him, He didn't play-act the role of Messiah the way they expected Him to. Even when He was condemned to die, the daughters of Jerusalem were "playing their part" weeping and mourning for him - but Yeshua rebuked them:

A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him. But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children." Luke 23:28

Being REAL

Let us all behave in sincerity and truth and avoid the leaven of the Pharisees which is playacting! Do not do your deeds for men to see, but in secret so only God can see it.

Yes, wear the tassels, but do not wear them long!

Yes, attend the banquets, but do not sit in the seat of honor!

Yes, attend the synagogue, but do no sit in the chief seats!

Yes, pay tithes of mint dill and cumin, but do not disregard the weightier matters of the Law!

Yes, pray to your Father in Heaven, but don't pray on the street corner, go inside your prayer closet and pray in secret.

Yes, give to the needy, but do not sound the trumpet to be honored by men.

Yes, fast, but do not make your faces withered and hair disheveled, rather wash and groom, so as to not make it known.

This is what REAL Christianity should look like. There is no reward for fake Christianity, as the reward has already been given by men.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.
