That's really neat, that you sold Kirby vacuums. It was like watching a modern version of a 1955's vacuum sales pitch. It was a pleasure to participate! Interesting you mention trade in and financing, since I did both!

It is because buying an industrial cleaning machine for the household in full is out of the reach of most people especially when it is door step sales.

However when you offer trade ins with the old vacuum even if the old one wasn't a Kirby then showed some affordable way to have the machine today people jump right in.

As the seller we have a range to play with the minimum we can sell at to earn commissions and the highest we make serious bank.

So if a sales person comes along gives you and your partner a demo very important to have both there to say yes or you can lose the sale later.

They can show you how amazing it is do the deep head bed matress test so you never want to sleep again once you realise what standard machines don't clean.

Then they shampoos a square of your carpet so it looks obvious from the rest.

Then when you gasp at the price everyone does !LOL

It is just a matter of the seller deciding how much commission he is willing to lose to get the deal.

Give ya $25 off for having the demo
Give ya $50-100 off for ya old dead Henry
Cause i like ya and you welcomed me into your lovely home i will give ya $25 but don't tell ya friends.
I even use to say to them book me an appointment for a demo right away now with a family member or friend and i will give you both $50 off if you both complete deals today.

Even giving away all that in a deal is still high commissions because you are over target.

We use to play around with it to clinch deals, sometimes people were difficult and you had to offer more, others were much easier.

Sometimes taking a bigger loss in sales commissions is better to increase your overall commissions and earn bonuses on the most sales overall and all the other incentives that went on behind the scenes.

It is competitive sales.
