Last night the children requested a camp fire. We've been gathering up sticks and logs all winter long, so we have lots of kindling for a fire.

Because we had so much kindling and good dry wood, the flames went up very high!

I made a special firestarter using an egg carton and some newspaper and oil. It worked very effectively. I've seen firestarters made of individual cartons, so we could make 12 firestarters from these!

It was a fun evening with the children. We roasted beef "little smokies" on sticks and they were very well enjoyed.
