We Are Alive! May 25th, 2023 A Friend Visits

Today we received a surprise visit from a friend of mine who is getting married next month. He came with a Nintendo switch.

We plugged it into the projector and even though it was a bit dim during the daytime, it was very playable.

We had a great time remembering old games and showing them to the children. My friend is very good at Metroid and we watched him get pretty far in just a few minutes!

It was a very pleasant visit. Not only did we get to visit with my friend, but he very graciously allowed us to borrow his gaming system for a few weeks! Oh boy!

What a treat! Borrowing this system means only one thing... it's just a matter of time before we buy our own!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

Willingly or under pressure?? :)

Enjoy the games, Benjamin :)

I hate to tell you, but Switches multiply. One Switch quickly turns into 2 and so on. Ha! We have a couple of them, but the kids have to "earn" their playing time on them...with a limit. Pretty cool that you hooked it up to the projector! That is something my kids have probably never thought of!

Not sure of the moral implications... but I have emulators for everything from the PS3 all the way back to the Apple iigs and Comadore64. Love to fire them up every once in a while and play the old games and software I have found for them.

I think that the popularity of emulation is what brought these classic games back to modern consoles, as it showed the demand for these games. For a while, emulation was the only practical way to play all of these nostalgic games, aside from blowing the dust off old systems. Now many of these games are at our fingertips along side the new games! It's fun sharing these experiences with my children.

Yep, it's kind of like being able to take your kids back to your childhood and try out the things you like as a child (and still do!)
