Cold afternoons in Caracas are the common denominator of these first months of the year; this is when fog begins to cover the city with a dense blanket and a soft dew. Without fear of contradiction, I can assure you that the vast majority of us who live in this city love this time of year, as it is ideal for showing off our best coats, drinking a few cups of hot chocolate or, in this case, warming up a little under the glorious notes of a good Venezuelan coffee.

The best coffee is not the one served in large coffee shops, but the one brewed with love and passion in those safe spaces we call home, because it is under this roof where traditions are forged, ancestral habits are learned, and, therefore, incredible results are obtained with each brew. Coffee is an inherent part of Venezuelan tradition, present on any occasion, and incredibly the best companion for any circumstance.

An afternoon without coffee is like a relationship without love, so every day I enjoy this moment in the best way possible, savoring that unique aroma and notes that walk a fine line between bitter and sweet, but which ultimately translates into a truly powerful combination, where a perfect balance can be appreciated and, without realizing it, we find ourselves faced with an energy drink par excellence, which not only allows us to warm up, but at the same time gives us the necessary boost to keep going on those days when the hours seem to pass slowly.

I have always loved cityscapes, and I am truly privileged because from my window I have a truly impressive panoramic view of the capital, where large buildings set the tone, but where imposing nature is also present, showing us once again that we are a small species in the world around us. But in this city full of contrasts, colors, and life, I have no choice but to sit by my window, contemplate the urban beauty, and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.
