In the past year, I have seen many houses around where I live have changed their function from residential homes to restaurants, cafes or offices. Previously, the area where I lived in Medan City was a residential area and it was very rare to have a large restaurant or café doing business around here. However, nowadays there are many large cafes and restaurants that attract a lot of outsiders. One of the new coffee shops or restaurants is Awaian Coffee House.

Some time ago, I took the time to come to Awaian Coffee House. The location of this coffee shop is very close to where I live, only about five minutes by motorbike or 12 minutes by foot. What makes this coffee shop interesting for us to discuss? keep watching my post this time.

Awaian Coffee House uses a luxury home building as its place of business. This luxury house is very legendary and well known by local residents around the area. Because, this house use to belong to one of the bosses of the biggest plantation company in my country. When I was a child and passed by this house, I really wanted to go in and see how grand and luxurious this house was.

Finally, after this house was convert into a coffee shop or restaurant. I can carry out my intention to enter this luxurious house. I came around 9 am to Awaian Coffee House, and this coffee shop is one of the coffee shops that has been open since 7 am and also sells breakfast menus and packages to its customers.

When I entered this coffee shop, I was amazed by the vast area of this coffee shop building. Awaian Coffee House has several rooms such as outdoor space on the ground floor, indoor room, second floor, smoking room and VIP room. From my observation, this coffee shop takes advantage of the original building of this luxurious house and designs it very elegantly and aesthetically.

We can see various original ornaments of this house from the stairs, roof, windows to several other things. The roof is designed with additional wood and makes this coffee shop building look very classic and feel oldskull. I also like the choice of interior and ornaments used in this coffee shop. We feel like we are at home, the minimalist design combined with wooden furniture makes us feel at home sitting here for a long time.

Croissant Scramble Egg

The ordering system at Awaian Coffee Shop is very easy, we only need to come to the bar, look at the menu and order food or drinks. I'm interested in ordering the breakfast package option from Awaian Coffee House. The price offered for this breakfast menu is also very cheap, only IDR 30K (2 USD) and we get the main course and Awaian Coffee Latte.

There are three choices of main courses, namely chicken burger, chicken quesadilla, and croissant scramble egg. I opted for the scramble egg croissant for breakfast that morning and was curious as to how it would taste and look.

My food order came quite quickly, only 10 minutes from the time I ordered the menu. I think it's a wise choice because when breakfast is a meal that must be served quickly and eaten quickly. I was surprised and amazed to see this dish served to my table.

This croissant scramble egg has a very large shape. One plate of this dish consists of a croissant with a fried egg in the middle, scramble egg, lettuce and chopped vegetables covered with spicy mayonnaise. Also don't forget, sprinkle the chili sauce around the side of the dish.

I can't wait to taste this dish, I thought this breakfast would be very filling for me. I had the croissant first, it was very tasty and filling for me. One thing is for sure, this dish is rich in protein because three eggs are used to make this dish.

I also like the salad, the cut vegetables like lettuce, cabbage and carrots are very fresh and crunchy. What's more, these vegetables are even more delicious when added to this delicious mayonnaise sauce.

Awaian Coffee Latte
For drink orders, I got the Awaian Coffee Latte. What is Awaian Coffee Latte? yes, actually it is a palm sugar latte. One glass of coffee consisting of fresh milk, espresso, palm sugar and ice cubes. For some reason, I see there is a trend regarding palm sugar latte in Indonesia. Almost every coffee shop has a palm sugar latte on the menu with strange names.

Just like the portions of food, drinks from this coffee shop are served in larger glasses compared to glasses from other coffee shops. I myself wonder, on what initiative did this coffee shop make the portions of food and drinks so much bigger.

I also enjoyed this drink, even though it was still 9 in the morning but the weather in Medan City was already very hot. This Awaian Coffee Latte is also perfect for breakfast like this. The creamy taste of milk and the sweetness of palm sugar do not remove the bitter taste of coffee. Like a complex orchestra.
